Lakers 2021-2022 season thread

Good to see the Lakers up by three at the end of the First quarter. Some changes to the rotation and Jordon is assuming a more active scoring role now that he and AD are not on the same rotation. Howard is also playing more and shooting more. This may work.

With AD playing PF, he has more flexibility and he can maneuver better. With true Centers like Howard and Jordon, they can play D, shoot and cover the paint while AD can float and shoot when the opportunity presents itself.

Nice sequence by Howard. Played great D and got fouled in the shooting act. Lead is now 5.

That sequence with AD covered the gamut of offensive and defensive moves he possesses. Howard joined in on the defensive end. Those two had the Hornets watching for about a 2 minute stretch.

Jordon and AD both have ten points and only and Rondo and Bazemore have not scored.

The Lakers are playing more intensely as they lead at the half by 1. Their collective team D is better. We shall see how they play in the second half.

The lead by the Hornets is 6. Lakers are doing better but still have not figured-out their defensive woes.

Rondo and Bazemore still remain scoreless. The days of just running around out there doing little are over. Everyone has to score and score more than 5 points and they must play defense otherwise the Lakers are going to be bottom-dwellers pretty much the rest of the season.

High scorer for the Lakers so far is Carmelo Anthony. No surprise. This dude is playing lights out every night and everyone else should take a page from his effort book.

Another deep three by Anthony. He has 20 for the evening so far.

AD looks pissed and the lead by the Lakers is 5.

What a half-court buzzer beater by Monk to end the Third Quarter and the lead is 7.

Anthony is on a tear as the lead balloons to 14 points. The effort tonight was team-wide and much better. Still have some defensive issues to get better, but offensively everyone contributed which is what is needed every game because James is no longer here to bail everyone out.

Westbrook, Rondo, and Bazemore need to work on their shooting because all three are in a slump.

With 7 minutes to go in the fourth quarter, the Lakers are up by 8. They need to finish-out the quarter instead of leaving early.

Westbrook is 4 for 14 so far. Horrible shooting.

We needd Reaves and Bradley to get into double figures sooner rather than later. The lead is now 5.

Lead is back to 11 as the Lakers are staying aggressive.
