Did Seattle even look at Blount? I'm surprised he hasn't received some looks. Especially on a one year like Lacy?

If my team needs a stop gap at RB (and it does), I'd much rather have a battering ram like Blount than a guy with obvious weight problems.

Carroll likes different types of backs and lots of them. He at least believes Lacy is a bruising kind of 3rd and short kind of back which this team has desperately needed since Lynch retired. I have no faith in Rawls on 3rd and 1 or 2.

I heard some talk about Blount up here, but I guess it hit a dead end... He's a good pretty good back so I kinda expected a more serious look ... I think Lacey fits that big physical style Carroll likes..

Was JS in GB's FO when Lacy was drafted?

Not getting a yard on 3rd and 1 is not an issue of a RB not being a bruiser. It's the inability of your offensive linemen to move their man the slightest bit to give any RB a chance to simply get forward of the line of scrimmage.

My lack of faith on short yardage is solely on the girl scouts we have on the line, not Rawls, Lacy, or Walter Payton.

Lots of "injury prone" labels being tossed around today. From what I can find, Lacy missed 1 game for injury in his first 3 seasons. Played really well for 4+ games last season then a bad ankle injury cost him the remaining 11, so now he's injury prone? I don't know how he'll work out in Seattle -- obviously I'm rooting for something in the "very well" category -- but this sounds more like sour grapes than injury prone.

He's a pig. I think you're going to be disappointed.

BTW, earlier today I saw some comments on this thread mentioning that as long as Eddie stays in shape he'll be fine. The only shape you Seahawk fans should expect to see is round and I do believe he'll have no problem maintaining that.

Is this a Seattle thing? I have seen multiple Seattle fans on here put an "E" in his name.

Welcome to your new world, Eddie. Just remember: There’s fruit in the buffet line and vegetables, too. Here’s hoping to see you at 245.

Yeah, if he would've re-signed with the Packers for that, I wouldn't have been mad.

I just don't trust him to stay healthy anymore, though. Problem with GB is that I don't trust Montgomery to be able to be a feature back either. Gonna need to get some help in the backfield or it's gonna be another year of Aaron Rodgers breaking his back carrying the whole team again.

Agree 100% with both comments...

Even though Lacy has had issues with weight, he has still been effective even playing on bad ankle at times.

Packers may have too many holes to fill with draft if some areas not addressed here in FA now, they have allowed quite a few (more than normal) of their own FAs to exit to other teams this year. So far Lacy, Lang, Jones, Hyde, Tretter, Peppers have already left. Of these, Lang I believe creates biggest issue to replace.

Although we are typically pretty bad at spelling the names of our own players/coaches (half of us are still figuring out "Holgrem"), there is a town called Lacey really close to the state capitol so that may be creating some "muscle memory" issues.

They had no faith in their last super bowl either

Makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up.

Lang is still the only legitimate hole that I see. I will miss Hyde and Peppers though. Peppers was gone at least in my mind. Hyde filled so many holes but he was limited athletically. I guess the FO wants more speed on the defense.
