They're in for a rude awakening if they think he's going to be a beastmode duplicate

FEAST MODE!!!!

Eh, I really don't know why Seattle keeps spending draft picks/money on runningbacks with no line (Joeckel is a lineman but barely counts)... but whatevs. The Seahawks are into that yoga and psychological shit. Maybe they'll curb Lacy's diet limitations and find a gem. No doubt the guy is talented... but Lacy's waist line has been one of the highlights of his career so far....

Which will be greater?... Games played in 2017 or trips to the buffet line in a single feasting? Stay tuned...

Only saving grace is it's a 1 year 'prove it' deal for the one position in the NFL where 'prove it' deals carry the most weight (no pun intended).

Jokes aside (in my previous post), I still have to give it an "A" grade signing.

Yeah, if he would've re-signed with the Packers for that, I wouldn't have been mad.

I just don't trust him to stay healthy anymore, though. Problem with GB is that I don't trust Montgomery to be able to be a feature back either. Gonna need to get some help in the backfield or it's gonna be another year of Aaron Rodgers breaking his back carrying the whole team again.

Agreed 100%. I remember loving Montgomery out of college. I wanted Seattle to draft him (because we had such a mess at KR/PR at the time). But feature back? Everyone has footage now of a guy that was drafted as a WR/KR/PR.

I would have to think Green Bay will be drafting hard at runningback. I've been wrong plenty of times but I think Montgomery is NOT the answer in the backfield for the pack. 3rd down back? Sure. Feature back? NOPE.

RB was already an expected draft pick IMO. We can still address in somewhere in rounds 2-4.

I would consider it a grade A signing for around 2.5 to 3 mil a year but Seattle just made him the 9th highest paid rb next year from what I read. He can't stay fit or healthy and last i checked your O line still has some decent holes in it which won't help his situation

Yah but it's a 1 year prove it deal... Lacy (in theory) is going to do everything in his power to play hard for a massive contract. I'll be a bit more skeptical if he has a good season and Seattle gives him a 4 year/$40M or something..

still a stretch imo. He's had lower leg and knee injuries his entire career. I loved the guy when he could be on the field but his problem is he couldn't.

Yeah, he is a guy that I figured would be excellent on his first contract and then awful later on in his career. Didn't really even live up to the first part so I think this is addition by subtraction for the Packers.

I've been hoping for defense and OL in rounds 1-4.

Who knows, maybe since Lacy signed with SEA, Jamaal Charles will take a similar (even cheaper) 1-year deal with GB so we don't have to burn a 1-4 pick on a back this year. Charles has health problems too, but he wouldn't need to be a workhorse in GB like he was in KC.
