A healthy Knicks, Hawks, or Charlotte squad isn't a bye.

It's all about match-ups. Last year the 8th seeded Hawks who matched up with Indy perfectly took them to 7.

I don't know why everyone without seeing of any teams play a game is assuming the 1/8 match-up will be a sweep or a 5 game series.
Because Paul George went down, the Nets are old, and the Hawks will likely be a top 5 seed.

There is a chance a team like the Heat will suffer some injuries and be a 'way too good' 7 or 8 seed in which case they'll get tested like the Celtics Big 3 were tested back in the day but...c'mon.....you really think the Cavs are losing Rd 1?

I never said they were losing. I just think the East is better this year and I can easily see Cleveland/Chicago being pushed to 6 games in round 1.

The Nets may not even make the playoffs

The 8th seed can easily be the Knicks or Hornets.

The east is better at the bottom

The 8th seed will not be some 37-45 team

Last year the Heat probably would have been pushed to 6 if Jefferson was healthy

Bulls and Cavs will be better.

Heat and Raptors should be good. Wizards and Hawks will probably be good. Bobcats will probably be ok.

After that....who is the 8th seed?

I'm just saying that you can overcome a lack of playoff experience easily if you're playing the Bobcats or the Knicks

I think your right- I really like the Charlotte combo of Vonleh/Zeller at PF with Jefferson at C- I think that is a damn good combination and- with Biyombo too- you dont have any guys that are all around great players- but have a lot of guys that do certain things really well

and I have an irrational like for Michael Kidd-Gilchrist as well- i honestly think he will be the next Tony Allen type- a late bloomer- (not quite as late as Allen) that becomes one of the premier perimeter defenders in the league.

If Kidd-Gilchrist can step up- him and Stephenson could be a deadly combo of wing defenders on thatteam to compliment the scoring ability of the front court.....I like the Hornets a lot this year and think they will contend for the 4-5 seed

The Knicks? The Nets shouldn't be that bad either as long as Lopez is healthy.

Love and Kyrie will be fine- there are plenty of guys on that team that do have the experience-

plus the NBA comes down to talent- and then matchups- the two most important things- and the Cavs nail both of those vs. just about anyone

the Nets should def make the playoffs

Lopez is back healthy- PLUMLEE has really come on as a very solid big....

and i know JJ and Dwill are getting up there- but thats still a darn good back court.....

add Garnett (all though he is now a shell of his former self), Kirilenko who is pretty good, above mentioned plumlee, Jarret Jack is a solid backup guard, I actualyl like Karasev's talent a lot ....

thats is definitely a playoff team in my estimation......

all though as i said above- Toronto and Charlotte are my 2 sleeper teams because they just have a ton of good young athletes that have talent on those two teams- Ross on Toronto is a very intriguing player...

You haven't seen the cavs play a game yet. You have no clue who matches up with them and who does not

whether a guy is playing with the Portland Trailblazers or the Russian national team- certain guys skills lend themselves to matching up against other guys that have certain skills

of course you can have a clue how they matchup once you know the roster----but in that- we dont know the final roster- you do have a point

I think what important to note about the Cavs big 3 is that there is no prime DWade calibur player to compliment Lebron. Irving is a top 10 type PG but not a Superstar. This team won't be able to do what the Heat did and suffer injuries in the playoffs and keep going. They'll need all 3 parts of their big 3 to go places

Russ..congrats on the Love deal...

thank you- hopefully the Cavs get him signed to that extension- it sure seems like it will go down- seeing as how we offer him the most money and best chance of winning- but ya never know

should be a fun season- those outlet passes are going to lead to a lot of easy buckets- especailly with kyrie and lebron and dion running
