This is how the QB market works. ROY, 2pro bowls. Only QB in History to throw 70 tds and run for 40 in their first three years. 3-13 team before he arrived, etc., etc., etc.
Anybody who is shocked by this extension either doesn’t understand the market or simply loves to hate.

Scooby, he's 2 inches tall....
Im confused, whos two inches tall,Scooby or Kyler......??

Rodgers is an all time great. If Mahomes signed an extension this year it would be for 50 mil per. Its as if some of you don't understand how the market works. The Murray deal was right where it should be.Not hatin at all,but compare what you just wrote and compare that to Rodgers or Patrick.......They dwarf his stats....lol,no pun intended.....
Im not gonna post stats, but hey Burrow has even taken Cincy to the SB......
Thats more valueable than a ROY and probowls, whuch mean zilch.....
Owners need to have them earn it,before they make it.....
He did look really bad at times and the jury is still out on him, but there are a number of teams, Seahawks included, that would have gladly signed him to that deal. That is what the market demands. He has improved every year and his stats in his first 3 years are some of the best in history. No team in the Cards situation would have let him walk. Not sold on Murray being a top flight QB, he looked really bad at times last season. So not sure I agree with you.

Are you suggesting the Cardinals should have let him walk? If that happened there would have been multiple teams that would have gladly signed him to a contract at the same level or even more. Including the Bears.
This is an absolutely ludicrous signing... Michael Bidwill is out of his fucking mind.
F grade. This is amazing news for San Fran, Seattle, and LA fans.
wont be long before we'll be saying that about Watson deal (as far as the guanteee)....well, at least by the time Burrow and Herbert get paid.remember when folks freaked out over Mahomes' contract...?
That's fully guaranteed and won't be nearly as flexible, imo.wont be long before we'll be saying that about Watson deal (as far as the guanteee)....well, at least by the time Burrow and Herbert get paid.
I am not either. But the alternatives are worse for the Cardinals. I wouldn't have Murray in my top 10. This is more about the QB market, especially in guarantees, exploding than the Cardinals "overpaying" Murray, imo.Not sold on Murray being a top flight QB, he looked really bad at times last season. I don't think there is any good news for Seattle. They have the worst QB situation in the NFL
He's 11 or 12 for me. Just outside the top 10 but like you said, what do they do if they don't sign him? You just got him weapons, you start over trading Kyler. Just doesn't make sense. This is a guy that made 2 PB's and #1 pick. You don't need an elite QB to win, you can't just give up a pretty damn good QB bc at some point you have to pay a guy. They had to make this moveI am not either. But the alternatives are worse for the Cardinals. I wouldn't have Murray in my top 10. If you are arguing that athletes are paid too much, than we are on the same page. If you are arguing the Cardinals overpaid based on market value, then you are wrong. All pro athletes sre way over paid to begin with....js
But Kyler has not done anything special to warrant that type of contract.....He falls in the Dak catagory where he shows flashes, but then again,in the end,he is missing something......
Bears dumped a big payroll and are starting over, they wouldnt take him.....
Besides they are hoping the got their qb of the future......He is gonna have to prove in 23......
This… exactly. It was a no-brainer. The market and QB situation is what it is.He's 11 or 12 for me. Just outside the top 10 but like you said, what do they do if they don't sign him? Spin it any way you want but he had a trash playoff game and you want to pin your hopes on him? This is how the QB market works. ROY, 2pro bowls. Only QB in History to throw 70 tds and run for 40 in their first three years. 3-13 team before he arrived, etc., etc., etc.
