Exactly.

Reduces a roster spot. Instead of having one of Tremon and one of Lil J you get the best quality of both.

Blocking WR who won't get much time at WR but can play the position and do what Lil J did (the only good thing about Lil J) and then fill Tremon's special teams role... Although not a returner like Tremon we have Mims to do that but Sherfield can be an ace in coverage. He fills a couple of roles instead of rostering two guys for those roles.
