Lets Go Flyers
i did not say they were stacked and obviously flyersfan was talking about the top teams who are the ones that are going to represent the conferences anyway.

The Atlantic already is the most competitive division in all of the NHL, even if the Devils don't get Kovy.
But that doesn't mean the SE and NE got better because the Atlantic got better.
Last year, I'd say that the most competitive division in the NHL was either the central or the pacific. Three teams reached the 100 point mark in both divisions, and the Blackhawks ended the season winning the cup. If I had to give the 'award' for most competitive division, i'd probably award it to the pacific.
just to be clear and save some face.. i forgot the thrashers got buff'n'co.. they are indeed better.. though not really that much, eager is garbage, sopel was hated amongst the hawk fans i know, and buff had a good 3 week stretch, he was worthless during the regular season..
but, i agree, they did improve, i simply forgot about the trade.. not sure why the question is 'are you fucking high' that's a bit strong for a slip of the memory
I don't think Kovy's worth $8.5 million per year, but I would say he's worth $7-7.5 million. And you can expect about a $500K - $1 million overpayment in free agency, so this wouldn't be an utterly terrible deal. Actually a pretty decent one.
As far as the argument that the Devils are worse with Kovalchuk, I don't buy it. The Devils having a worse record with him on the roster was strictly an anomaly. If you increase the talent on a team, you will make the team better. Kovalchuk is talented, so if the Devils don't give up more talent to get him than they net with him, they will improve their team over the course of the season by signing him.
Not humorous, but a fine assesment!

why can't weee be friends, why can't weee be friends???
in seriousness though...the east has the better elite teams but the west is better through out (ie, east has more crappy teams than the west, etc. etc.) also, someone forgot that the leafs are so obviously contenders now with the GREAT COLBY ARMSTRONG on their team. *scoffs*
