i am not sure. it really depends on the team they trade with though. i do not know about a lot of other teams young wingers. i guess a simmonds type of guy though.

Simmonds would be nice. Hopefully LA will find Gags to be worth it.

It might have helped:D

I honestly didn't see it. I even read down to the bottom of the first page to see if there was a new one about the goings-on with this.

Ya, I'll watch that from now on....

Still, as all of us have stated, it's just a rumour of a rumour of a rumour. Not quite a story yet.

i mean, obviously i'd rather him sign elsewhere because i don't want to see him so often...but he never scared me with the devs. maybe he just wasn't given enough time to click or whatever, but nothing extra special...at least nothing 8.5/year special. so...i'd PREFER him to go west or...well, just leave in general, but he didn't do a TON with the devs.

Dotn forget he wasnt there for a whole season. As pointed out earlier a new coach could help him. I actully dont know why I am kind of rooting for him to go to the Devs, but the East is going to be stacked next year.

To be honest, he never really scared me in Atlanta. Now granted he was on a worse team, but I really don't think he is a player who you can count on when it counts

i thought they beat the pens like 5 times last year.

yeah, but that was mostly (i think one win had him) sans kovy. and really they were all typical devs wins (1-0...2-0...2-1, the infuriating ones, ya know), and kovy doesn't fit the typical devils mold. JMO though...

It makes for better entertainment. Kovalchuk and Parise, Crosby and Malkin, Richards and Carter. It would be a bonanza of offensive talent, but then you also have to factor in the two blue-lines of Pittsburgh and Philly and one premier goal tender in marty.

It will be very entertaining.

still think its Caps/Flyers/Pens and then a step down

Don't get me wrong I think the same thing but with Ilya Kovalchuk for an entire season your are going to be upgraded some. (Unless they give up a lot to clear space)

Compared to how stacked the East was last year, I guess. :D

well lets look at the top teams in each conference. well the ones we think will be.

the east has philadelphia, pittsburgh, washington, and jersey.
the west has vancouver, san jose, detroit, and chicago.

philadelphia, pittsburgh, and jersey all seem to be getting better. washington might get better and even if they do not they will be considered the favorite.

meanwhile, san jose and chicago got worse so far.

This is awesome. And when you think about it these three teams (Pitt, Philly, NJ) are all teams that typically make the playooffs so I am sure that with 3 good teams we will be helping eachother by not letting teams like the Rags, Bruins, and Habs get in our damn way!

all 6, but who's counting. what really counts in those losses is a total of 5 goals scored by the pens in those 6 games, no more than 2 in any game.

15 teams in a conference. Edmonton might again be a lottery team, but, the other four lottery spots may go out East.

We can keep track of the h2h record between East vs West this season if you like. I don't mind. :):):)

Maybe this delay is a result of something bigger going on. New Jersey would have to clear some cap space to make this happen. They have about 3.7 million dollars in cap space at the moment, and they only have 10 forwards signed on for next season.

Could this be the mark of a monster trade?
