Kevin Garnett would be even BETTER if he played today. The current rules would have made him a top 10 talent of all-time(not that he was a slouch in his era, regardless).

They had Jordan and a declined Magic but they were post heavy with an injured Larry Bird.
They would have gotten enough 3s from Mullin, MJ, Pippen, Stockton, and Clyde. Meanwhile they would score a lot inside. And while the Ws rest Curry and Klay the DT would have 5 HOFers on the court.

I think peak Warriors would smoke the Dream Team just because they’d shoot 3’s all the time, regardless of how much better the Dream Team is than GS at basketball.

Not to mention the fact that with all the firepower on offense the dream team had Jordan could completely shut down one of the shooters and I mean shut down.

If you can shoot 40%+ from 3 at a high volume, it doesn’t matter who you’re playing against. Let the Dream Team get a bunch of 2-pointers.
40% from 3 < 80% from 2

oh yeah for sure, nobody ever been born that can keep KD from getting his. Now Bird might have hurt his feelings enough to mess him up though.

It doesn’t matter how many HOFers the Dream Team has. There’s only 1 ball to score with and 1 basket to score on. The 15-16 GSW also led the NBA in 2P%.

Not this garbage again. If a player from 20+ years ago hopped out of a time machine he wouldn't know what to do. It would be "I got to get a hand in the face of that dude from 28 FUCKING FEET"?

Just about everybody can hit a corner 3, take it to the rack with both hands, male the pass, .... because the players are so much more skilled. If that dude from the 80's grew up today he'd get all the training that modern players would and be just as good as he was in his era. The game evolved. They didn't even have a college 3 when Bird/Magic/Jordan/Barkley were playing college ball.

Not sure why so many people get so worked up about this.

Take any player from the 1995 season and plop him into the league today and he would struggle. He would routinely foul out. He would routinely get hit with flagrant fouls for things that wouldn't even get called in 1995. They would all struggle with positioning. The big guys would REALLY struggle. I think just about every one of them would be shocked at how effective players were today at shooting off the pick and roll or pick and pop. Defenders back then would just assume that a player running a PnR was planning to drive to the hoop and they would go underneath.

The GREAT players would adapt and still be very good. But it would take time for them. And those players would also realize that the overall talent level of the league today is much different due to the massive influx of talent from around the world.

FTR, lots of players today would struggle with playing in the 90s style of basketball. The physical nature of the game back then would have been really tough for a lot of these guys to deal with.

Doesn't make the game better or worse today. Just different.
