Well, Muscala can shoot.

He's a vet big who can shoot. So... he fits what we do on offense.

It's a small scale, low risk, low impact addition of the "why not?" variety.

Muscala is most helpful as injury insurance... if everyone is healthy, I don't see him getting meaningful minutes in the playoffs.

It appears they are considered like trade currency. You don't actually care about drafting with them, they are just to use to get players in trade.
