This guy is single handedly destroying the competitive product known as NBA basketball. The playoffs were by far the most boring and uneventful that I've ever seen.

1) everyone wanted him to go to the eastern conference, or that was the consensus seemingly. He joins the one team nobody ( except warriors fans) wanted him to join.

2) After the worst playoffs in forever, Durant takes a pay cut to keep the same team together that just rolled through the playoffs without any adversity.

I cant blame the guy for wanting to win, but a super team like golden state shouldn't have staying power. The CBA was constructed to encourage competitive balance and instead we are left with this monstrosity.

Basketball won't be fun to follow for the next few years folks.

Says the Spurs fan.

Dynasties aren't bad for the NBA. I think the problem is that this is the greatest team ever assembled. Fans take 1 of 2 viewpoints. Either they dismiss the Warriors greatness, or they do exactly what you are doing here. They lament.

The NBA has never had competitive balance. If they took away the roadblocks, perhaps someone would be able to assemble a roster to challenge them. GS had a made roster and nobody is catching up in part because of the CBA.

I was really hoping Durant would go to Washington. Durant, Wall, and Beal is a nice core to build around... If Beal would stay healthy, he'd be the best outside shooter Durant ever had, plus John Wall. Would've made things more interesting.

Washington could have helped by not having the season they had in 2015-2016

Durant didn't WANT to go home, though. He specifically ruled the Wiz out because he thought it make him too comfortable.

And he had a bunch of friends on the Warriors...

Agreed, but if Washington got Durant there's no way they would've kept that same bench. It was horrible.

If you want to talk about Durant breaking the NBA, LeBron James was the first to do that when he went to play with the Miami Heat. Durant kinda helped.

That's why the NBA's shallow. I want to see other teams emerge and not see the Warriors and the Cavs sucking all the fun out of the NBA.

Garnett and Allen didn't help, either...

Durant is talking out his ass. GS will still steamroll the Thunder. I'm sick of everyone acting like PG is some elite player.
George will ease the pain if he RESIGNS... No doubt about it.

Durant is hardly the first player to ever take a pay cut.

But players are supposed to ONLY factor in money when they are a FA.

OR go to a major market team to form their super team.

KD is evil incarnate because he decided that an extra 50M would not effect his great-grandkids lifestyle.

Selfish bastard.

The NBA has always been this way. From 1980-2014 the same 6 teams won 31 of 35 titles. And go back beyond that and you'll find the majority of the titles were won by either the Lakers or the Celtics. This is nothing new.

Selfish bastard.

There was someone who made a petition last year calling his decision to join the Warriors a heinous act. I guess KD makes people crazy.

Durant said that last year. But, I don't think he would have said that had the Wizards been reasonably good the season before he hit free agency. He may have picked GS anyway, but the reality is that no big FA is going to pick a team coming off a sub 40 win season where it's best two players can't stand each other.

Take it one step further.

Danny Ainge's traded for KD and Ray may have put the idea in LeBron's head. Maybe it is Ainge's fault?
