Not sure if it's been noted, tho it probably has....but fwiw.....
...the Royals were only 3 games above .500 at the K. during the regular season.....as opposed to 13 above on the road. So who knows if that even means anything for the playoffs...and particularly the WS.
But it certainly could.

That being said...SF was only 5 above on the road...and 9 above @ home.

Peavey has 6.XX ERA at the K lifetime.

Except the Boch won't panic and leave him in if he's struggling to hit his spots like Yost did with Big Game last night.

But their road record is (for the most part) in AL parks, with a DH. In the World Series, they will have to go deeper into their pen, and Yost will need to match wits with Noggin.

True.

But if he has a history of suckage in that park, he will probably have a shorter leash, and we will need to use Petit in this game, likely while behind.

Giants probably need to save Petit for Vogelsong, though. Vogelsong looked terrible against the Cardinals

All I know is if I see sheer panic in the eyes of the Royals past the 3rd inning, I'm turning the game off tonight.

Okay, I'm lying but still I'm going to be very angry if these guys still haven't taken a deep breath. I'm fully anticipating Peavy ringing up major K's tonight if his location is precise and the Royals are swinging at trash again.

It will depend of course on how he looks (command, velocity, and whatnot), but I wouldn't be surprised if Bochy takes him out of the game if he gives up 2 runs in 2 innings. The leash could be that short, especially when Bochy knows that he can count on Petit.

What a blessing Petit has been. He just gets it done. His performance against the Nationals in the 18-inning game was basically the equivalent of an excellent start, and it was especially impressive because he was dealing with the pressure of knowing that giving up just one run meant the Giants would lose that game.

My favorite bar in town is full of people from KC and I want to go there and have a good time and be happy for them but the Royals got shelled so quickly yesterday that it was pretty tragic. I think most people who arent Giants fans at least want to see this go 6 or 7 games

If the Boch lifts Peavy after 2 ER and 2 IP, expect a Carlos Zambrano-ish meltdown in the dugout.

Rest easy Royal fans, your season was no fluke. Only one Giant pitcher to fear here and ya saw him last nite.

Play "small ball" and get er done the same way ya did all season. Run the bases and fear no Peavy, er man.

Hopefully, Peavy is solid and we have the luxury of saving Petit for the coming games. You know, now I'm beginning to wonder if we're better off just having Petit start Game 4 instead of Vogelsong. I guess we won't do that because we have to respect the vet, but keeping the currently better-performing pitcher in the pen in case he needs to bail out a pitcher who hasn't performed too well lately seems like backwards thinking.

Safest bets in the series seem to be 'Giants' when Bum is pitching and 'Over' when Ventura/Peavy are pitching.

One would have thought the "under" would be in play the entire series. We are watching the best starters/bullpens are we not?

Play the Homies and the undie. I have no clue what that total is..6-8 total runs I spose.

You could also make the argument that KC plays in a tougher division than SF does....also 9 teams in the AL finished above .500...whereas just 6 teams in the NL did.

I will assume you know Peavey better than I. But I would be SHOCKED if anything that were to happen. I think Peavey has too much respect for Boch to do something like that. He would also burn any chance he had if returning the Giants, and you have to figure that even having the Giants in the mix will raise his asking price.

From your mouth (er, fingers) to no ones ears (er, eyes), hopefully.

We don't want the Royals to start to play to their strengths and the Giants weaknesses, here...

I thought the under was a no-brainer last night with the Aces facing off against two squads that had each sat for about a week.

Yea...

Didn't work out that way...

Great thing about Bochy is he doesn't care.
