Kap is really struggling. Lets see what adjustments they make in the second half.

49ers are overrated. Kaepernick has regressed and they won't fire Greg Roman. See you next year.

So many other teams do so much more on offense with so much less than what the 49ers have. Kaepernick has no vision.

Put it this way, Ryan Howard laughs at the contract the 49ers gave to Kaepernick.

I sure took a lot of heat for saying this was a bad deal for the 49ers. Sure they could cut Kaep, but what then? They needed to draft a QB so they had some options. Kaep will not get cut, they will pay him the money for at least another year, maybe two years.

Anybody in this thread wants to admit they were dead wrong?

So looks like Kaep is going to be the 49ers QB again and not a " heir apparent" in sight. So I guess it's safe to say Kaep is going to be the 49ers QB for at least a couple of years, maybe more!

How much are they paying him? Seemed like a lot for a bum. Others felt it was a deal, wonder if they still feel that way.

Anybody ready to eat crow?

This is still a pretty good deal for the Niners when you factor in his contract de-escalators & the fact that Niners can get out of his contract right this very second if they wanted to.

How much are they paying him? I haven't looked it up, but the answer is too much.

Getting out out of contract only helps if you have someone to turn to, this applies especially at QB.

They are paying him $10.4 mil for 2015 if they keep him. That is cheap for a starting QB in the NFL.

As to the second part, how many teams have someone to turn to if they cut their QB? None. The fact that the Niners have no guaranteed money tied to their current QB till after 4/1 of each season makes the contract about as good as gets. It's a year to year deal.

Take his mediocre talent out of the equation, the contract is golden for the Niners.

I like to add that the year this contract was signed, the 49ers had a excess of draft choices. They could of moved up and had some competition if not the heir apparent. They chose not to, which is one of the reason this isn't going to work out for the 49ers. Anybody seeing Kaeps heir apparent in this draft? No? I didn't think so.

Sure make me get off my lazy ass! According to over the cap Kaep cap hit is over $15 million and that's highway robbery for Kaep.

It's true the 49ers could cut him , but then what? Go with Gabbert?

That was my whole point about the contract and the fact that the 49ers made zero attempt to have a viable alternative.

49ers best move would be to cut Kaep and suck for the next franchise QB, but they won't do that.

To be fair, if Kaep has another shitty year he will have to drop $2Million from his 2015 salary. Funny thing is if Kaep sux again, dropping the $2M will put SF just under the cap if it ends up at $143 Million.
Maybe Baalke is expecting another lousy year from the biceps kisser to stay in line with the cap.
