Kaepernick is really happy about his contract. Here's a pic.

After reading this .....

Colin Kaepernick's new contract is a year-to-year deal.
Armchair GMs that spent Wednesday bashing the 49ers for the "$126 million" deal with "$61 million guaranteed" need to click the link below. Essentially, the Niners can cut Kaepernick before April 1 of each year without owing any more money -- so the actual guarantee is just $13 million ($12.3M signing bonus, $645K '14 base salary, $100K '14 workout bonus). There is also a de-escalator in the contract that can only be halted if Kaepernick takes the team to the Super Bowl or he is named first- or second-team All-Pro. A source tells Pro Football Talk that San Francisco is "thrilled" with the pact.

The Niners could get rid of him on a year to year basis if need be, & if he works out he would be worth the money. Sounds like the niners deal has no back fires in it.
Also I kinda have to give Kap some kudos for taking a contract betting on himself performing instead of just taking money no matter what.

Actually think all contracts should be written in a similar way.

The contract is better that most of us thought when it was first announced. I still think it is for too much ,but I will just wait and see.

Looks like u were wrong. Takes a real man to admit when he was wrong. Lets hope u can admit it. After all that took about being one of the worst contracts……..Well it looks like one of the best.

Its ok to be wrong. It happens. I just think its funny how quite this board is since the details came.

Great job by Kap and the front office. Love this contract. There were only a few on here that thought is was a good contract. I was one of them. feels good to be right. Congrats to the other posters on here that were right. Lets see if Players like Luck, Cam, RG3 and wilson follow….. I doubt it. Kap doing the right thing. Good to see. Team friendly deal. Way to help your team out.

Victory? Don't get carried away. The 49ers still over paid for a ? mark like Kaep, the only saving grace is that they can get a divorce for cheap. However when you consider their fall back at QB, it really isn't a choice at all, is it?

Haha...you're jumped on board the "greatest contract ever" bandwagon before you knew any of the details that made it a great contract.

That's NOT something to be congratulated on.

It was (is) a great contract for the 49ers (not so great for Kaep IMO, I think he could have done better elsewhere), but don't act like you somehow knew that it had all the incentives and de-escaltators in there. You didn't. You thought it was great when we all thought it was 61MM guaranteed no matter what.
