Just for fun: if you could see any player from past eras play in today's NBA, who would you want to see?

I don't know. In this era of 3s? He wasn't very good from 3, outside of a couple outlier seasons and never averaged more than 4 attempts per game.
From Brook Lopez to Paul Millsap to Serge Ibaka, we've seen guys who went from strictly inside scorers to guys who can shoot threes at a respectable clip.

Why? Because shooting threes isn't that hard. It's not some arcane skill that can only be mastered by a small handful of Socrates-level geniuses. Almost everyone shoots them now, which means it isn't particularly hard.

This is why I find this talking point disingenuous.

With the 3 and D role being highly valued in today's game, I'd like to see how Dan Majerle would fare. Especially since he was the first to make a habit of shooting area code distance threes.

Majerle was so much fun to watch. That whole Suns team was.

You're going to lose your Laker's card saying things like that.

lol

Suns have long been my 2nd favorite team. In fact, I was supposed to be a Suns fan. My aunts had season tickets to the Suns and when I was 8 and just getting into sports. They took me to my first NBA game figuring that I would become a Suns fan.

Unfortunately for them, the first game they took me to was against the Lakers. I saw Chamberlin, West, Goodrich, etc. come out on to the court and they've been my favorite team ever since.

If Maravich played in this era, no one woulda known who Steph curry was …

Cmon now.

Pretty extreme exaggeration.

Curry wouldn’t be any less great.

And Maravich would have needed to stay sober and actually work on his game for that to be true.

I think Ray Allen is his prime would have a better career in today's NBA.

More of a finesse/athleticism player.

He could really shoot the ball and handle, and move around the permiter. He's closer to the guards of today's NBA.

The NBA guards of old are more waterbugs and physical tough guys. Iverson was better in their era but I think in today's game he'd be better.

I’m going to throw out this guy just because everytime I see an old game I realize how under appreciated he was. Dominique Wilkins.

Going into that draft...there was real debate in the Lakers FO over whether to take Worthy or 'Nique.

No complaints about Worthy, but I always wondered what Showtime would have looked like if they took 'Nique.
