The final score is 6-2, with one tie. Jordan has the stats, awards and performances.

James is a great player. He has been the best player in the NBA since the 2005-06 season, but Jordan is clearly better when you compare their first nine seasons. James will go down as one of the 10 greatest players ever and he has a chance to make the top five, but if he is going to beat Jordan, he still has a long way to go.

Kobe would beg to differ, but hey, you all know this already.

I never seen a group of fans get butthurt so easy than Lebron fans. You guys cry about everything that is not in Lebron's favor and you guys try soooooooo hard to try to convince people that Lebron could or will be the GOAT. Let the damn man get towards the end or finish his damn career. He hasnt even passed Kobe, so chill out!

I think i read this thread wrong because when I first read it, I distinctly remember Michael Jordan saying that in his prime he could have beaten Lebron in his prime, but he never said anything about Kobe being able to beat him and in fact I believe Michael Jordan and the bulls may have played Kobe and Shaq, and won the regular games, so I am not so sure about Kobe being able to beat Michael if both were in their prime. In my opinion Michael was a much better leader on the court and was also better as a team playing. Those glaring weaknesses would have cost Kobe

This was an awesome comparison of 2 guys' careers as players on teams and says nothing about who would win one-on-one.

What he said was ONE-ON-ONE the only player that MAY beat him is Kobe because Kobe steals all of his moves. So, again, it has nothing to do with whether Kobe and Shaq's Lakers player Jordan's Bulls EVER.

It was also a complete waste of time, because I or nobody else that I have ever seen has ever said that Jordan and others don't deserve to be rated higher then James on any GOAT list.

The thing is, none of those players who are listed above him are playing anymore.

Nobody can predict injuries, but assuming James has a full, uninterrupted career, he probably still has half of his left.

He has now appeared to just entered his peak and claims he has improved again this off season.

If, in this next 8-10 years, he wins a few more rings and a few more league MVP's, then the GOAT conversation will be turned into a 2 horse race with people on either side being able to present a solid argument either way.

My point yesterday still stands though. Being the best player on a championship team is huge, but it isn't the end all in this type of discussion.

Kobe isn't even thought of to be the best all time Laker, so he certainly can't be in any argument for the GOAT
player.

He is a step above Wade because of the longevity of his career and him being the best player on 2 championship teams vs Wades 1.

I don't want to hear that LeBron is bigger and stronger (which he is). LeBron is going to retire as one of the five greatest players ever. But one-on-one? His skills aren't Jordan's skills. Jordan was a better shooter, from deep or midrange, had an almost hypnotic control of the basketball in space or when guarded and had the best footwork of any perimeter player ever.

LeBron James

Regular season:

27.6 ppg (48.3 FG percentage), 7.2 rpg, 6.9 apg, 1.7 spg, 0.8 bpg

Playoffs:

28.5 ppg (46.9 FG percentage), 8.7 rpg, 6.7 apg, 1.7 spg, 0.9 bpg

Finals:

22.5 ppg (43.8 FG percentage), 8.1 rpg, 7.0 apg, 1.5 spg, 0.5 bpg

Michael Jordan

Regular season:

32.4 ppg (51.6 FG percentage), 6.3 rpg, 5.9 apg, 2.7 spg, 1.0 bpg

Playoffs:

34.7 ppg (50.1 FG percentage), 6.7 rpg, 6.6 apg, 2.3 spg, 1.0 bpg

Finals:

36.3 ppg (52.6 FG percentage), 6.6 rpg, 7.9 apg, 2.0 spg, 0.8 bpg

You don't think these numbers speak to one on one skills? Get you head out of the sand.

At the very least it shows that LeBron wilts as the spot light gets hotter and Jordan GETS BETTER as the pressure rises. Jordan, all day, every day...

People keep saying well in the next 6-10 years, if Lebron does etc....you all have to consider something. Lebron is like 29 or 30 years old folks. I'm sorry, but he won't be dominating the league in his late 30's, early 40's. It's just the way the NBA works. It's just going to be someone else's time to dominate the league at some point or another. Imo, he has enough time to put himself as one OF the greats, and that should be good enough

He turns 29 on 12/30 of this year. He has 6 more years until he is anywhere near late 30's. Kobe just had a great year at 34, why couldn't LeBron be dominant for 5 more years (or beyond), which would make for a great run?

Btw, almost every unbiased person has Kobe ahead of Lebron on the list, but you Lebron sack lickers get butthurt over that. You guys need to learn how to let Lebron play his career out.

So true my man, especially this Turnup fella. He's getting butthurt for no reason in this instance. Jordan saying he would beat Lebron one on one is hardly dissing on him like Turnup thinks. Quit being such a LeVag.

What he said was ONE-ON-ONE the only player that MAY beat him is Kobe because Kobe steals all of his moves. So, again, it has nothing to do with whether Kobe and Shaq's Lakers player Jordan's Bulls EVER.

I still don't think even that was possible to be honest
