I believe this to be true. Too many great young players putting up amazing stats, wins and levels of leadership. It's my consolation prize this year as it seems pretty clear that the Nuggets are about to get bounced (or swept) in the playoffs.

Maybe. If they get bounced this round, I'd say its likely. Even though it shouldn't have any effect, the narratives carry over in the minds of voters next season. But if they recover and win the title, I could easily see him winning again if someone get hurt similar to how Embiid did this year, who was trending as MVP before his injury. Jokic stays pretty healthy and his numbers are gonna keep in that Top 3 MVP voting for awhile. He's always going to be lingering. If injuries happen, he's always gonna be a safe vote. I could see him getting another one

Luka would be my betting fav for MVP next year.

But I think you’re looking at the wrong things here. What you are saying isn’t actually factored into voting.

As people have stated the reason for Ant being a legit candidate is National ascension, should be great team, and also natural progression for a star player that will now be 23 and in year 5.

It would be absurd to say he is the favorite. But it’s not crazy and very possible that he could win it among about 4 other similar candidates.

I wouldn't put him as a top 5 favorite, I'm saying current status will bias next years voting. If he goes out next season and lays egg, gets hurt, etc, it'll mean nothing. If wolves are top 4 in west again, he's having a great season, he'll most likely be in conversation

I think he's definitely in people's minds as an option next season. He's getting all of the hype and praise currently.

Ahh, the regular season. Embiid missed nearly 1/3 of those games over the past 4 years. His two years with the most games played would barely qualify him for postseason awards under the new rules (and those two seasons are the only ones over that threshold of 65).

He got one, could've been more if he was ever healthy.
