Well no shit he's better than an average joe off the street. But he's most definitely an average NBA player. He does a little bit of everything but none of it well enough to be a 1st, 2nd, or really even 3rd option.

Average Joe in the NBA. Never said average Joe off the street.

Sorry you missed that, dumb ass.

Average player. Some days he looks great but he tends to limit that to every third game. Casual fan can think otherwise

Average or not, he's going to be way better than Prince. A team that was already really good just upgraded at their weakest position. It's a great trade, even if Green never reaches his full potential.

Green's #'s were a bit inflated playing for Boston, but he brings much needed perimeter scoring and athleticism to the Grizz. As long as he doesn't shoot too much then he should be a good fit.

Yeah, I read it the wrong way. But you know what? You're still wrong. I guess we can be dumbasses together.

Here is the spectrum, y'all:

- Jeff Green as a top banana? No. No way.
- Jeff Green as a second banana? Below average and frustrating.
- Jeff Green as a third banana? Actually, not bad. Athletic, versatile... can defend, shoot a little, and attack the rim.

That's definitely better than average when it comes to NBA players. That's a quality starter in the NBA. You just have to find the right role for him... and whatever that role is, it certainly wasn't top banana in Boston.

Happy trails, Jeff. Memphis looks pretty good to me.

Now let's get James Young some minutes on the court and see what he can do. Can I get an Amen?

Kid's 19 so I don't expect the world. But he looks pretty good for a 19 year old... and there are some minutes opening up on the wing right about now. Let's let him dip his toes in the water.

I expect Boston to trade Gerald Wallace by the deadline as well.

Exactly. He'll be a nice 4th option behind Gasol, Randolph, and Conley.

Were they inflated playing in OKC?

Maybe, but probably not. Brandon Bass is far more likely.

Yeah... Wallace has a crap contract for next year as well, but the C's aren't winning anything next year either. Boston can (and probably will have to) stomach it.

Mostly, I don't see any market whatsoever for Gerald "Crash" Wallace. Who is lining up to do that trade?

Crazier things have happened.

Joe Johnson.

That's true.

Joe Johnson.
At least JJ could still play ball. Johnson: another guy who looks bad when you consider him a top banana or a second banana... but definitely has good value in the right role.

That being said: the Nets have been woefully mismanaged. They have been, and are, a train-wreck. I don't see many other franchises lining up to follow down that path... by trading for Crash Wallace, for instance.

Atlanta looks great now. Good work by their organization.

I wonder if they are going to bring him off the bench as the 6th man or play him at SF and bring Lee or Allen off the bench....

:noidea:

I think Wallace can still contribute, he's been buried on the bench in Boston since they are going with a youth movement. He's still just 32 and hasn't played much in the last few seasons. It isn't like he's 36-37 and logged a ton of minutes.

Danny Ferry has done a masterful job in Atlanta after being chased out of Cleveland.
