Idiots really don't understand that outside of Morales (who will probably leave), the M's have absolutely ZERO middle of the order offensive guys. The closest is Seager, and he's still a ways off.

Landing Ellsbury would be nice, but it doesn't fix the 3-5 in the lineup problem. He's a fine defensive player, and hits for a nice avg, but he has very little power. He's a 1-2 hitter, and a damn good one.

That's just the tip of the iceberg for problems with this team....which are everywhere.

Rocket science for the ignorant, of course. Luckily, this board has fewer of those idiots than most. lol.

well then its a good thing there aren't "12" middle of the order spots in the order. I know the drama queen has been dying to get out but the end of the world is not coming in seattle. Luckily for this board you are the lone idiot

Happens every time right before free agency it seems. The press releases something saying Seattle will be in hot pursuit for said highly coveted free agent at the tune of X mil over 4 years or so.

Man they love using Seattle in the free agency PR don't they? They know our front office wants the PR to show a good faith effort (lol) to the fans only to have another team bite with equal or more money and more years on the contract. In the end, Seattle FO thinks they gained an excuse. Sadly it's too predictable.

Indeed.

Signing Lincecum for way too much is exactly the kind of thing this baseball-indifferent ownership/fo would do. They'd salivate at getting to run headlines about signing a World Series champ who came out of Bellevue.

Born in Bellevue, went to High School in Renton which is about 12 miles away, and went to UW.

Facts are always nice, sweetie pie.

don't bother with him wazzu. he has shown every day that he is here for one reason and one reason only. to be a thorn in everyone's side. he has no clue about the game or how it should or even shouldn't run. he was a hater at espn and he has continued here. but just like at espn if you don't engage him he starts to go quiet because no one listens to him:suds:

What this team needs his leadership and pitching, I think if we had a manager that really inspired our young players and some veteran leadership on the team that could lift the team we would be ok. If we had more Ibanez type players on our club we would be a heck of a team. lastly its pitching, im looking at teams like the A's, Cardinals, Rays,Indians, Red Sox what do they all have in common? there starting rotation has atleast 4 quality SPs (some even 5) look at our starting rotation, other than hernandez and iwakuma what did we get out of the other pitchers last season? NOTHING Maurer, harang, saunders, ramirez had terrible seasons all had an ERA of 5 or higher. IF you guys want to talk about lineups look at the Angels there lineup is STACKED and they are watching the playoffs just like us but unlike them we arent stuck with disgustingly huge contracts

Such a clown, facts are nice but since there is no hospital in Issaquah you lose. When you all your negative nancyness at least get the facts straight. I know where Liberty HS is and he did not grow up in Bellevue. Now back to your rant about knowing anything baseball.

Completely agree with his and why Jack should not have a job along with Howie and Chuckie. Can't just bring in a veteran presence on 1 year deals. Nor trading a Doug Fister for shit or even though it was a sound trade, trading Vargas for a 1 player that you will not re sign. Yes, draft picks are nice but all draft picks do is prolong the rebuild process meaning the team will keep drawing 9,000 a game which will only put them more in the hole for the big league budget while they will keep spending money on Safeco Field trying to entice more fans...fucking knitting night or single ladies night.

Hospital in Issaquah? What are you talking about, gurl? LOL.

I mentioned facts about Lincecum. He was born in Bellevue, went to High School in Renton which is about 12 miles away, and went to UW.

Whatever you're on, either up or down the dosage.

....Yes, draft picks are nice but all draft picks do is prolong the rebuild process...

At no point does any team look at drafting as something that has a definitive end point for building (or rebuilding) a contending team. It's a fluid process.

Draft picks are 1/3 of any type of rebuilding, and only "prolong" the process if out of balance with the other 2/3 (free agent signings and trades). Z has blundered all of it, with the possible exception of getting some potentially good pitching stock for the farm.

And revenue for the team is about to explode without having to worry about paid attendance at Safeco.

I think this sums up the entire dislike for these guys, like it or not they are business men and I like to quote Mark Cuban "If you want to make money, don't own a professional sports team" Which is direct conflict of Chuck Armstrong motto of "90 m budget, 90 wins and drawing 3 million equals a successful season" Connie Mack had a very similiar motto but at least he threw his fan base a bone and let them win a couple of titles.

In my personal opinion I believe they never would've massively dropped the budget had the fans not started flocking away.
You sound like you could be a Bruins fan!

You think Seattle's current management is stingy, they've got nothing on Jeremy Jacobs in that area.

It seemed for an eternity that he would never pay anyone more than the vet minimum, and that resulted
in some abysmal Boston Bruins teams. As I've said elsewhere, thank goodness his sons have learned from his mistakes!
