Jack Clark said on WGNU near St. Louis that Albert Pujols was shot up by his former trainer Chris Mihlfeld . Mihlfeld has denied the accusation and now Pujols is suing Clark and WGNU to send a message that you cannot act in a reckless manner, like they have, and get away with it.

Pujols and his trainer better be telling the truth because if it gets out that he did juice their names will be dirt and Pujols will look like a fool.

I don't want to see Jack Clark sued but he better have some proof if you call someone out especially on a radio station.

I wonder how this mess will turn out.

And the PED s#it continues to take away from the great game of baseball . I continue to be fed up with all this s#it but it refuses to go away. Sad.

Pujols says he'll sue; Clark, Slaten dumped by station : Sports

Yep, and his co-host was yanked, too, and rightfully so.

Not taking sides here, and I don't know who is telling the truth. But you just can't publicly broadcast an unsubstantiated allegation like that on the air and not pay a price.

Good to see that actions still have consequences somewhere.

agree 100% ... giving some of these people a public forum is just asking for something like this to happen .... always thought Clark was a great player .... but always thought he was a little rough around the edges ..

After reading the article I am wondering why would Clark lie? Ratings? He has know if you call someone out on a radio show it's going to come back to you. I did notice that the trainer ended up saying that he has not talked to Clark in 10 years which is right around the time Clark said that the trainer offered up the info on King Albert. Someone is going to get caught in a lie here. It still comes back to why would Clark lie about so many details?

I don't see where Clark made any allegations beyond "I had a personal conversation with Pujols' trainer and this is what he said..." Pujols has no legal case and he knows it. This is more Lance Armstrong-ish type intimidation and bullying.

Clark's credibility suffers greatly here by him bitterly going after so many people, and not just on the subject of 'roids. But that said, I think he's totally believable. No way in hell he'd fabricate that whole story and if he did, he'd have gotten his ducks in a row and really made up a great tale and probably not named names. As it is, what he said sounds not only credible but likely. I don't doubt for a second that an up-and-coming trainer like that in the heat of the 'roid era would be delighted to tell a baseball legend what he did and assume it would never go further than that.

Pujols is acting like a very guilty man right now and this is starting exactly how all the others did; with a trainer. And Pujols righteously indignant manifesto of innocence sounds like it was prepared by Lance Armstrong's people. He said all the same stuff and it worked for a long time.

I think this is the first chink in the armor and there have to be some determined investigative journalists out there who'd like to prove what we all suspect about Albert Pujols. My guess is that "his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" is the only one who can save him now.

No way in hell he dominated an entire generation of juicers and didn't do it himself. He's as guilty as A-Rod and Lance Armstrong and we all know it.

Especially when you have Brain-dead Caribbean hitters hacking at slop nightly. I mean, that's as exciting as cream of wheat in the dugout...

He won't be sued.

Any lawyer who filed the lawsuit would get laughed out of court by the judge.

This is PR stupidity by Pujols' team, and all it will accomplish is expanding the dialogue on his alleged PED use. Really stupid on their part.

And Clark will make money off of this, not lose it.

I'd imagine a 6 or 7 figure book deal will come of it, plus, he'll be imminently hireable elsewhere.

His people are going to follow the same, exact plan that Lance did. It will delay the inevitable but Pujols is a very scared man right now and that manifesto proves it. He should have talked to reporters before the game and laughed it off and said something like "My trainer never told Jack Clark that because it never happened. I've answered this question many times and you all know how I feel about it."

Nope. Instead we got basically the same outline we got from Lance. Righteous indignation, threats of "legal action" (very ambiguous and meaningless and everyone but the simple-minded masses know it) and a rambling manifesto of how offended he is that someone, anyone would impune his spotless character and faith in Jesus Christ. Yada, yada, yada. Virtually word-for-word what Cheatstrong said for a decade.

And Clark will make money off of this, not lose it.

Jack Clark is a pariah. I doubt he has a friend left in the business and nothing more than a short exchange with Pujols' trainer isn't material for a book. He is very bitter and hateful of many players and much less respected than even Jose Canseco (who also is hated for telling the truth).

Could be.

However, we live in a world that glorifies controversial behavior. Any press is good press, and it's not career suicide or anything to accuse a pro athlete of doping since most people have such jaded views on the subject anyway.

Even if he doesn't get a book deal, this certainly will do nothing but benefit his career, IMO.

If Jack Clark is telling the truth, he needs to pore every ounce of his energy into convincing investigators that what he said is true. If he's instrumental in exposing Pujols, his options are wide open.

Even if he was telling the truth, it looks like he has no way to prove it. The trainer has already come down firmly on the side of Pujols.

And if Jack is just talking shit out his ass, he deserves to be sued for every penny he's got.

So Jack shoulda just kept his mouth shut, because either way he can't win, and he could stand to lose big time.
