Cant find one at the moment but I Remember the press Conference and he said...

"we don't recruit Florida".

I think it was in 2008.

The reason was because he didn't really need to with all the talent in Texas.

If it was 2008 he might have meant "we dont want to play Florida"

You have to be shitting me. Sooners want Mack to stay not b/c they respect him, but b/c he is Stoops's personal bitch. Mack shits the bed more times than not when he has to face Stoops and the Sooners. The 4 worst losses in the history of the RRSO has come under Mack Brown. Sooner fans want him to stay b/c they are scared shitless of what will happen if a Nick Saban comes in. All Orangebloods respect and love Mack, no doubt about that, but it's time to move on. Remember the past 2 years Mack had stated time and time again 2013 was the year we return to a BCS bowl and at least be a BCS title contender. That all ended when a bunch of 25-32 year old white boy Mormons tore us a new asshole, especially when their QB with a bad knee ran all over the defense with ease using just one play. Mack will get his statue and all the accolades b/c he was a great coach for The Forty Acres and he brought this program back from mediocrity. Trust me, I was a student at UT during the last McWilliams season and endured Mackovic, who actually won the same amount of conference titles as Mack did (but was a complete son of a bitch whom nobody liked). We all love Mack, why you would say otherwise is just being dramatic. The fact is, 8-4 is not acceptable in Austin. 8-4 is acceptable and considered EXCELLENCE in College Station. We're not fucking College Station, WE'RE TEXAS......

LMFAO!!!! Awesome!

OU fans give UT fans hell (and we get it back just as bad from you) but we do respect class and that's what Mack Brown always showed toward us. Even in years when he beat our ass (most recently in October) there was never any hard feeling toward Mack Brown because he never trashed OU and, even more importantly, he made damn sure Texas played us clean. You never see a bunch of late hits or cheap shots in the RRSO. The majority of the credit for that goes to the head coaches. The vast majority of OU fans would like to see Mack become the winningest head football coach in UT history (but not at the expense of OU!) and that's a hell of a compliment to the guy who is leading our most bitter rival.

Espn just ran a scroll, confirming Chip Brown's story. Mack Brown will resign by the end of the week.

You mean the guy that is in an impeachment hearing for his actions? The ones that were not authorized by the administration?

So you agree he is associated with Texas.

I do. That is your numerous examples. I provided multiple examples of the support Mack got. I even compared it to Bama ' s conduct, which seemed lacking in comparison

247 and multiple outlets have said that Chip will end up correct

So who do Longhorns want if Mack indeed steps down?

Aside from the Saban rumors...

I am quite a fan of Malzahn. I like Anderson at Wisconsin. Texas would not even look. They are more concerned about appearance, which is the source of much of the problems. I just want a coach with a process and a system. There are probably 20-30 coaches that can win big at Texas

I'm all for David Shaw, Charlie Strong......I'd even talk to Franklin. I'd like to see a younger man with ideas than an older Saban

I have cooled on Franklin. I love the results, but I can not identify his process.

You and I are mostly on the same page here. A young sharp minded coach with a system. Hell I'd even consider Patterson and Gundy. There are a LOT of guys I think that could win here.

I'd also have one caveat - they retain Akina and Wylie as assistant coaches.

Gundy is great. He has done wonders at OkState. If he dumped that West Texas golf pro look I think more people would calling. I am not for Akina. Teaches man very well, no so much zone. Plus he has his way of doing things and at this pt I don't think he cares to adjust them for others.

According to Twitter, @deanblevins, says Texas source has told him Saban is sitting on 10 year deal worth $100M plus 1% of LHN.

Things have gone completely nuclear now. Goodness gracious.

Supposedly Mack Brown is in Florida recruiting today, and hasn't seen the story or knows anything about it.

However, these kinds of things does show how shitty journalism is these days.

Report: Mack Brown decision likely within 'next 48 hours' - CBSSports.com

I did a search for Mack Brown and this was one of the first results. It's CBS with a story and cites "Horns247.com" rumors.

Really? That's journalism? And then because CBS reports it, well people think it's credible and other people are also saying the same things. Maybe it is, or maybe it isn't. But it's all based on rumors and it's pathetic how "legitimate" news stations run this crap without real sources.

ESPN just reported it as well. At least the alerts I get on my cell phone that is
