I've heard some say yes and others no so I'm still a little confused.

This will only be his sophomore year, yes?

I thought one had to complete 3 years of college before being allowed to enter the NFL.

So does he have one more year to serve at A&M before being able to head to the NFL or is this his last year?

He is a redshirt.

Contrary to popular belief, he was an inherited player from the previous coaching regime.

He is gone from college station about 1 nanosecond after their bowl game ends this season.

Depends on if he cares about a possible National title or not. If he only wants the NFL money(my guess, then he will bolt after their bowl game.

If he wants a possible National title shot and believes he has a good shot, then he will come back.

Here is why: McCarron, Murray is gone, Mettenberger is gone, Bo Wallace may go unless he sees that Ole Miss could rival for the SEC west next year with top QB's gone. The west is going to be starting a new batch of QB's next year on many of its top teams. If Manziel goes, that will make atleast three or four of the seven and i didnt even include the other teams.

I have mentioned Murray for Georgia, I think this is Franklin's(Mizzou) last year, Connor Shaw(SC) is a senior. Murray/Driskel tandem at Florida could be the only possible starters among the top teams coming back.

All in all its a perfect storm for Manziel if he wants to come back and rule the SEC possibly as he would be the most talented and experienced QB in the conference.

The way Sumlin is using him up he had better get the hell out of there because his luck is running out. He came out with injuries in the Ole Miss and Auburn game the punishment his body is taking is substantial.

I wish we could see his ONLINE course work.

Anyone think he is doing any course work? I don't.

Well, it's not like he's punching his girlfriend, throwing her head first into a wall and walked away leaving her bleeding from the skull.

Right?

What kind of a university could continue to let a player like THAT remain on the roster?!

I mean, if Johnny had done something so malicious, certainly any decent university would have kicked him out of school.

Wouldn't it take a university completely void of morals to not only keep a player like that, but do so JUST for a national championship?

Hypothetically, I mean. We all know that would never happen.

i dunno for me its this......

For
-he probably wants to be a longhorn still and his heart never really was in college station in the first place
-he took a pretty big media beating this year and is done with cfb
-sooner or later the ncaa will bust him

against
2nd heisman
1st NC
hes a god in aggie land
hes apparently loaded with cash & money is a non-issue for him

i say this is a tough one to call. he shows tendencies to suggest that he will take the andrew luck route, but also tendencies to show that he will take the cam newton route

I think if he can, he will.

My question was, CAN he?

Is he eligible to head to the NFL after this year?

its a different generation.

online course are the real deal now and i think the reason why so many student athletes take them is because its a lot more flexible to fit into a football players already overloaded schedule

After Saturday's performance...they might try to trade him.

I hear Sumlin is wanting some sweet new rims for the team bus.

I think so...he is highly coveted in the NFL. Money, fame and not being in college, high draft status, doesn't want to risk injury( or further injury).

I can see him going to the pro's...nothing to prove.

Yes, you only have to be 3 years removed from your High School graduation year.

Manziel will finish up his 3rd year of college at the end of this year (Redshirt year, Freshman, Sophomore)

So he can opt for the NFL in the 2014 draft.

Yes, but the future is still bright for the aggies down the road without Manziel. If A&M can get some depth on the defense they could compete for title .

Um......no.

Manziel is the only thing that has you winning games right now.

When he's gone, you're done.

Worst move you made was leaving the Big 12 for the SEC. Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Had you stayed you probably would have won the Big 12 last year and this year and could have been playing for a national championship.

Instead you went to a harder conference?

Back to Johnny....I think he's gone after this year. Nothing to prove. He MIGHT win national championship if he stays or he MIGHT get an NFL career ending injury. He's got the Hiesmann so he'll be a high first rounder.

He kinda made it clear that money is important to him when he started taking money for autographs this past off season.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not slamming the kid for it one bit - believe me there are student athletes doing far worse than that. Just saying it's an indicator as to which way I think he'll go.

I thought he tweeted a while back that he hated College Station and this was definitely his last year.
