Even nick saban was stunned carpenter went round one. Basically every guy they have taken round one outside of thomas and okung has been a huge reach.

All I ask is they take the BPA on the board, the likelihood it works out is far greater than reaching so badly.

The Athletic clearly must be concerned about money for writing such a click bait article. The Seahawks parting ways with Carroll would be the stupidest decision in the franchises existence.

I think that title goes to the Nordstroms selling the team to Ken Behring ....

No. Time to move. I'm going with......Fire Pete.

Let's discuss.

1). What are the coaching attributes you believe keep the Seahawks Competitive?

2). What are the coaching attributes you believe are harming the Seahawks?

Greg Bell, has mentioned that

"There is no tackling or taking to the ground" during practice.

Is this normal?

It's league wide. Firing 1 coach doesn't solve this.

I'm absolutely baffled that Pete seems to think the problem is that he hasn't allowed Geno to do enough.
“After two weeks of watching Geno play, we don’t need to hold him back at all,” Carroll said Monday after Seattle’s 27-7 loss to the 49ers on Sunday. “Geno has got his game ready to go. We need to trust him and maybe give him more opportunities and stuff. We’ve been pretty solidly conservative, counting on running the football.”

“When we didn’t run the football, we didn’t have as much of a mix that we needed. We can do better with that. Whether that’s right or wrong, that’s not the point. The point is we need to keep expanding. We have too many explosive avenues to go to, and we’ve got to make sure these guys show up.”

For those scoring at home. The Seahawks had 32 pass attempts and 12 rushing attempts this past Sunday.

Now I realize that aggregate numbers don't tell the whole story but it seems like we were more likely to pass on 1st down than run. As MSD points out in the next graph...
The numbers don’t necessarily suggest that Seattle has been “counting on the run game.” Seattle, at the time of Carroll’s comment, ranked last in total offensive plays run with just 96. The league average is 118.7. The Seahawks rank last in rushing attempts per game and 30th in yards per carry. They’re 12th in early-down passing rate in neutral situations, according to RBSDM.com. On paper, Seattle has relied on its passing game when adjusting for time and score.

Doesn't seem like this team has a clue what it wants to do.

12 runs is pathetic, but in fairness the whole RB group looks pathetic.

RB needs effective blocking. You can't expect them to get good gains consistently if they are always getting first contact behind the line of scrimmage.

Thats true, but a little toughness goes a long way and this group doesn't seem to have much of it outside of homer. Penny is especially soft.

Calling an NFL running back soft has always been more than a little ridiculous. Every single one of them take an absolute beating.

Rashaad Penny had the most yards after contact in the NFL last year. Now all of the sudden he can't break a tackle?

Maybe the problem is we have 2 rookies tackles, one of which was a known liability in run blocking, along with a new center and a de facto new LG as Lewis can't stay healthy? And maybe Penny is no longer being asked to break the tackles of LBs and DBs but instead DEs and DTs?

Yes think you got that right. The OL is a work in progress that hopefully gets better with experience and playing together.

It will likely improve as will the offense. But they are starting at a pretty low place so they need to improve a lot.

What a way for those two rookie tackles to start the season... Starting with Chubb and then having to deal with Bosa/Warner

Pete's not getting fired. More likely he'll move upstairs in a year or two. For now is what you see is what we get.
