Thompson's are a dime a dozen.
He's got some skills but they are very limited.
He's looking a bit better these days because teams have to focus on James.
Put him on most rosters and he's just another guy.

Whiteside brings to the table what few others in the league can offer and is just now starting to figure it out.
I know for a FACT that he has put in the work this summer.

His temper SEEMED to be under control since his last incident.
If that's what it took to make him see the light, then it was well worth it.
If he fucks up again, then it's on him.

I don't think he is done in Miami. no team is going to give him 16 mill for 3+ years.

I think he just needs to opt out to hopefully get the 1 year max from Riley.
If he really thinks teams will be lining up to offer him some high end multi year deal, I think he's in for a shocking surprise.

You need that one guy like TT on every team to be a contender. Like Rodman was to the Bulls, doesnt provide much offense but does all the little things great. He outworks everyone and doesnt take one possession off. He is still only 24 and only improving offensively. He has shown he is one of the best rebounders in the NBA especially offensively. Can defend the paint and perimeter at a high-level. His offense game has improved greatly, he can use both hands and has a little floater. He will never has a jumpshot but he doesnt need one, it's not his game.

yah....there are totally a ton of teams that would never waste cap space going forward on him- when the cap goes up to 90 million NEXT year....I mean, what kind of team that has a hard time attracting free agents, would spend 3 years 60 million on Dwade- when they wouldnt use the cap room otherwise- and when practically EVERY SINGLE TEAM is going to have ample cap room.

lol

I think teams would, but it will most likely be non-contending teams that are desperate. Teams that have more cap space, which isnt what he wants I am assuming.

Tristan Thompson being lauded for defense????

The dude is the worst rim defender in the history of the sport.....except for his teammate Kevin Love.

He might have some other defensive abilities besides rim protection...okay.

But the primary defensive need of big man he lacks.

Nate Robinson protects the rim better than my fellow Longhorn alum.

I'm willing to bet that comment was based on the Finals where TT and Mosgov clearly had the advantage over the smaller GS "bigs". At least that's what I'm hoping is the case.

Now rebounding, TT is the business. I have to admit. There were times during that series he was the only Cav surrounded by white jerseys and somehow (on more than one occasion) came up with the rebound.

Multi year deal?!? Not a great move TBH

Pat Riley playing keep-away?

I think D-Wade is about to get rewarded for both opt-outs at once. What do you think?

If Wade gets the max for a multi-year contract, good luck to the Heat. He might last another one.
He has definitely earned it, but it is the same as the Kobe contract. He isnt worth it now

Unless there is team option after year 2, it is a real bad idea IMO.

all this time I thought Pay Riley was cut throat and would part ways to better the franchise.

Wade is washed up. Move on.

Open up cap space for the big FA next year.

He had a PER of over 21 last season. Second to only Harden for SG's.

Is he going to give you 75 games? No. But he isn't washed up lol.
