And?

Players wanted out and were able to leave. Not sure how that's them getting pushed around. It's not like it's only small market teams that lose players.

When was the last time a big market team lost a in their prime player?

I’d feel a lot worse for them if the players had a choice at the start of their careers.

There is almost no question that Lebron, Rich Paul, Magic, and AD are all colluding.

And there is almost no question that the league will never be able to prove it.

And there is also almost no question that this sort of thing happens pretty frequently with all sorts of teams.

Don't get me wrong, I think it is destructive to the league to have the big market teams pushing around the small market teams like this. But I can't think of a solution to the problem, other than changing the salary cap rules.
they just need the small market teams to do what they hav ebeen doing lately like the Pacers and Spurs

That is a valid reason.

Ainge is really good at spotting value and making deals. But he has no loyalty. That matters to many.

Y'all should read this:

Before signing with Nuggets, Isaiah Thomas called Danny Ainge about possible return to Celtics

Isaiah Thomas obviously didn't a hold a grudge... why would y'all hold a grudge for him?
I saw that.

Doesn't change the fact that I have zero issues with Dude's forcing there way to places after the Blake's, Isiah's and Derozan's got the boot after giving their all.

I don't know about Thomas. But, Blake and Demar were lied to.

So, why be Loyal when teams aren't?

Davis is good to miss a good 15 games a year.

Y'all gonna ship his ass out when the next big thing comes along?

I'd be concerned.

Things will sure get interesting come 2022-23, chance of opt out of the CBA. Small market versus big market, with the bigger market San Antonio on the small markets side. Things are going to get more dicey

San Antonio is a tiny market. It's not just the city population, it's the surrounding metro/TV area. Oakland where the Warriors play is tiny, but the Bay Area is huge. Also, in this context 'big' market means attractive to FAs. Houston is actually a pretty big market, but do we think of them that way for this purpose?

To me the 'big' markets are NY, Philly, Boston, Chicago, LA, Bay Area, Miami, Washington, Dallas, Houston I guess

IT may not hold a grudge today. But he was devastated when this deal went down. That was clear.

And the damage IT did to his body playing through those injuries for the Celtics may well have ruined his career. I am not even saying that Ainge did the wrong thing in dealing him. It is pretty clear that from a basketball perspective it was the correct move. But it was cold blooded.

Also, for as long as I can remember, core Celtic players ALWAYS seem to be involved in trade rumors. It is the reason Ray Allen opted to go to Miami. While I don't think the Celtics would ever flip AD, the harsh reality is that signing a long term deal in Boston means that you KNOW Ainge will move you if it serves the team's future.

Better get that NTC.

I wish that once and for all,

Teams will accept that free agency is a good thing for the NBA. And creating CBA rules to limit "super teams" in the past has ended up hurting the small market teams more than the large market teams at every stop. I get that free agency creates advantages for the large markets. But literally the only way to even limit it is to go back to where it all started.

Soft cap, Bird Rights, no max salary

Even then, salaries are so huge it might not matter.

If another team wants to kill any trade with Davis going to the Lakers ..
They just have to take out a full page ad.

To Anthony Davis:

If you play with Lebron, you will never get credit for a single thing you do.
Even if you win a Championship, you will be lucky if they even remember to make your
ring. On that team, you will never be the man again.

PS If you do go to the Lakers, wear a name tag. You will need it.

When was the last time a big market team lost a in their prime player?

About 10 minutes ago when New York lost The Unicorn.

The Lakers lost Shaq and then Dwight.

Miami lost Lebron.

Shaq was not in his prime. Lebron and Dwight being examples of big market teams losing stars is...... ironic.
