I'm really interested to see the numbers holding this up, obviously it is all salary related. a mid to late round pick means nothing at this point. Teams want him cut bc they know they will get a hell of a bargain...Browns are playing the waiting game.

I just wonder how much of Baker's salary they are willing to cover. 25% or is it closer to 50%. I would think if it was 50% teams would be jumping all over it.
Yep.

Same here. Fuck the pick if teams are wanting a starting qb for free and a shitty pick. I'd wait until a qb gets hurt if that's the case.

did you read the article? The "dude going conspiracy" is Amico. He loves to play to the masses with articles like this with no factual basis. Nameless sources and a number of ifs (wondered if....)

Does this FO really strike you as the type who would lessen a guys value who they might be looking to trade?

Amico made a number of comments in the offseason about the Cavs, too. He knows fans with an agenda will eat up anything that supports their agenda (not saying you are such a person).

No front office would nearly make the AFC championship with a qb and then intentionally tank them the next season. That's the dumbest shit I've ever heard.

@WiggyRuss loves Amico. LOL.
Truth be told I used to like the guy before the Cavs' rebuild......then when the masses were all down on the Cavs he just played to them and ripped them for everything they did.

No rush now for Browns, that's for sure.
Yep. I could see a team offer a 3rd round pick (I think that's the best they can hope for) if their starter goes down early in the season and Mayfield is in a gym somewhere working out to stay in shape. Provided the Browns pay a portion of his contract. And the Browns could sweeten the pot by including a future late round pick.

I could see that and a number of things happening...including Baker stepping in if Watson is suspended.

No chance that happens. He won't be on the team or suiting up.

They'll most likely have him inactive until they trade him.

I hope for Baker's sake he can put aside differences if it comes to it. I'm more concerned today than last week though

IDK Mac Jones got 2.8 million last year and next years draft has tons of high ceiling QBs.

I think teams prefer to wait and draft a QB that gives them a edge with a dirt cheap rookie contract.

As we get older baked chicken is a better option than fried. Yet to get on board with it but at 50 it's not far off.

PS: I didn't bring up the food talk this time, can't blame me.

Yup he'll never be on the field for the Browns, they'll ask him to stay away and collect his paycheck. So worse case for Mayfield is collecting almost 19 million to stay home then becoming a free agent next season or the Browns trade him for what ever is offered and get this behind them.

If Watson got a long suspension (8-10 games or so) I agree....but just think there's too much bad blood at this point.

seems like the 2022 Browns will be trying to make a deep run. If Watson is suspended and they think Baker is better than brissett (and still on roster) why wouldn't they play him?

This is not like Houston last season who did not care if they lost games.
