Haven't heard anything about any teams even being interested in having him work out for them. The only way I could see a team even having any remote interest in him would be a championship caliber team bringing him in with hopes that he could contribute as a short yardage / goal line back. Seems like he's done unless someone gets desperate with a pre-season injury or something.

I heard the Raiders are waiting until he turns 40 to sign him. Which would make him their youngest veteran.

I think he's done. Was a force of nature there for a while. That fumble against SEA in the playoffs, though.

He will be picked up by someone that has a RB go down.

He wants to play as long as he can, but he's now seeing the affects of not becoming a better receiver or blocker.

He could get away with that in his 20s because he was so good at running the ball. As it is, he's not a complete enough back to get away with just being a runner in his 30s.

Will he get a shot? Maybe, if a back gets hurt in camp, but I doubt he finishes a season on a roster and he might not even start the season on one. He's just not that good anymore.

He was also more of a home run hitter RB. Which is a quality diminishes more with age than a chain mover, who can also block/catch.

Yeah. It's a misconception with AP. He was so big and strong, so people just kind of assumed he was a "bruiser" in between the tackles. However, he lost yardage a ton. I remember a stat I saw a few months back about how he lost more yardage in NFL history than every other back besides Barry Sanders.

He had really long legs, so when he had space to get rolling downhill. It was near impossible to bring him down. However, he constantly got caught up at the LOS and when he didn't have the room to get those things moving - things got cagey. He was quite poor in short yardage.

The Bears had so many games where they held him in check, and then it was just those 1-2 long runs where he killed you. I had him in fantasy and his line was SO OFTEN like 10 carries for 20 yards in the first half. Before he finally broke the big one in the second. Wind-up with 22 for 120 and a TD or something.

Also, he was only top 10 in 1st down rushing percentage once in his career. Despite constantly being in the mix for the rushing title. It was in 2012 when he rushed for 2K as well, and he still was only like 9th. Which says a lot.

So far, all I've heard are stories that supposedly the Patriots and even the Saints are interested.

Personally, I hope the Saints are dumb enough to bring him back and waste another early portion of a season realizing he's finished. It should have been obvious to every team in the league that the AP of old is long gone when Minnesota cut him and didn't even offer him a team friendly contract extention. That said, I'm all for having another NFC contender waste their time on him now that he's washed up.

I stated this in another post, AP needs to go ahead and sign a one day contract with Minnesota and retire as a Viking.

He left Minnesota on a fairly sour note and has said a few things about the Vikings that annoy me since that time. Not to mention the time he tried to cry his way out of town all the way to Dallas as an aging RB coming off a year long suspension for domestic abuse issues and his comments comparing being an NFL player to slavery years ago.

The guy has a long history of entitlement and acting above the team/fans during his time in Minnesota. Most Vikings fans I know agree that his act got extremely old and were relieved when he was gone in 2017. I'd prefer they either let him retire outside of Minnesota like he wanted to so badly for so long or wait a few years to bring him back with a 1-day deal. Then he can ride his birthday camel all the way back to Texas.
