for the record, Tom Brady averaged 3.3 in 2005 on 27 carries

He started dropping off rapidly by mid-2015. Besides his YPC decline, he also has just 2 TD's to 4 fumbles since 2016. He had no chance to succeed as an older RB because he never developed his receiving, pass blocking, or short yardage running game. He was a one trick pony home run RB.

His one chance to remain relevant at this stage in his career was to develope his short yardage situation game and truck it in for TD's/first downs as a power back, but he was never very good at that either. Combine that with his fumbling issues and any team would be foolish to waste their time with him at this point.

those 4 games, all wins FWIW.

if you go back further, since his 2000 yard season in 2012 hes only gone over 100 yards 14 times total in 40 games.

Good, he owes us one back after this one:

Yep. It's stupid how people always blame Blair Walsh for that playoff loss. It never should have come to that. All AP had to do was hang onto the rock and work on running the clock out, but instead his butter fingers gifted Seattle the go-ahead FG.

Granted Walsh was a pro and should have been able to handle the short FG and gotten over the miss, but I firmly believe that that AP fumble was the beggining of the end of Walsh's confidence and career. I wouldn't mind him stinking it up in New Orleans again as repayment for his fumbles in the 2009 NFC Championship.

First of all, AP didn't even get enough carries with the saints. How could he get anything rolling. And FYI, most backs are going to get 1-2 yards more often than not, and the more carries they get the better chance they break for a longer run. He would have no Ingram to worry about the first four weeks and those teams the first four weeks outside the giants are cupcakes against the run. He very well could do better than Ingram has done.

Sorry, but this isn't 2008.
