I only disagreement from is that if Jerry is going to give up on one the starters it better be for more than one bat.

And can someone explain the Vlad Jr. lovefest? A massive upgrade for sure but how does adding another glorified DH make them a WS contender.

If they aren’t trading to win a WS then I’m not sure what the point of trading prospects is.

Vlad actually played a decent 1B and 3B against us. Not gold glove, but no worse than France at 1B or Urias at 3B.

In a heart beat if I were Jerry I’d offer Gilbert or Kirby for Holliday, Kjerstad and Mayo. I don’t think they’d take Castillo and his contract and give up one of their top prospects.

New ownership. I think the contract would not be an issue. Castillo for him might be a major problem, but not his salary.

Even with new ownership I don’t think they would do my proposal for Castillo. Not saying the new owner would nix it because of the contract, just the contract makes one less valuable especially when the M’s have 4 guys who are as good as Castillo and making peanuts.
