I've seen some St. Louis/Boston rumors hint around. That'd be a good move...but man it'd be expensive.

Seeing as it was I who posted the original Iggy to Bruins thread-I'm more than pissed at Ward for going with his fucking "sources" and reporting that crap, without confirmation.

The guy played with heart and soul, every fricking game for 16 years with the Flames.
Just saying, that he deserved more fucking respect from your "sources" you damn goof.

It is very fitting that in Iggy's final game with the Flames, he scores the GWG...

Eric Wilbur is butthurt this morning - Maybe Chia should have made the Bruins 1st rounder non-conditional and you would have landed Iggy. Then again, maybe the actions of Jeremy Jacobs over the past 20 years or so have a hand in things.

Kick to the face, kick to the gut: An evening with the Boston Bruins - Boston Sports Blog - Boston.com

He conveniently left that detail out of his article...

Two C prospects and a sure 1st rounder or a B and a C prospect and maybe a first rounder are not such different deals.

So Jay Feaster just put in a waiver claim on Jarome Iginla. None of us have the heart to tell him.

I think Iggy vetoed the deal to Boston.

He looked at the roster and decided that by playing for Penguins he was LESS likely to sustain a career, or season, ending injury at the hands, elbows or feet of Matt Cooke.

I think you're right Kenny and that will happen with a guy has a NTC...

Edit: Love the Matt Cooke addendum.

Now Chia is saying no to questions, multiple. I don't know which writer it is asking (Steve?), but dude...calm down a bit. This is a pretty bizarre presser.

Peter Chiarelli: "We were told at noon yesterday that we'd won the Jarome Iginla sweepstakes. We believed that we'd had a deal"

This all reminds me of the Lindros deal when Quebec traded him to the NYR and the Flyers.

That was an odd presser too. The Nords held that conference announcing all those recent Flyers and Aubut said that he thought the Rangers deal was better.

Disrupted three locker rooms with that one.

So, the shit disturber in me has to ask this... Nothing but a cup is acceptable.

Who takes the blame if they don't get there?

I feel bad for Flames fans. Not only did you lose your franchise player & just a great guy in Jarome Iginla your GM got very little in return. I hope the 1st round pick is a gem.

Feaster can't be blamed for the deal. It seems like Pittsburgh was Iginla's choice.
