As good as Maddux was in the regular season I always thought he was subpar in the postseason. Idk if
I could trust him.

Maddux was poor in the post season. Smoltz was there best post season guy.

So, I should put all my VCash on SF?

No.

If you HAD to bet one way or the other, though, you probably should bet SF (I did).

But this involves choice. The scenario is that your life depends on who you choose. You have no choice in being in the situation. You simply are in it.

Put me in that situation, with no other known issues (who is the other team? Who is the opposing pitcher? Where is the game played?), I would need to choose between Kershaw, Bum and Felix.

Of course I chose Bum...flavor of the day in my mind...howeverz

Mr Johnson, in his hey day throwin, "high-n-in cheese" followed up with his slider down-n-away was awful tough hanging over the plate and trying to stay there for an full AB.

So if your life depended on it and you had to choose one pitcher, you'd choose Madison Bumgarner?

Looks like MY LIFE is safe to fight another game with Bum tonight. Terrifically thrown ballgame tonite. He shut down a team playing at it's home park that had won 11 straight postseason games dating back to to 80's.

I chose wisely.

Cannonball Titcomb. Not so much for his one game of post season experience or his 6.75 ERA in his one game started. He was... 1-0 betches. He was a fucking winner and his name was Cannonball (Ledell to some).

Going out on limb...

But Dysdale pretty much stunk till the latter part of his career. THIS comment is coming off the top of my rocker with no stats in front of me now. Some how I think I may have a point here.

Im talking about compared to his regular seasons he just wasn't as good in the postseason as he was in the regular season to me.

MAddux had a better postseason ERA, was a better defender and had better control. If you look at randy johnsns postseason numbers, he had three good postseasons out of 7, especially his phenomenal 2001. His team won four times and lost seven in the playoffs in games he pitched with three of those wins in the same year. Breaking it down
In 95 he had a 2.5 ERA in two games, very good.
97 not as good a 5.5
98 he had a great era in the game he pitched a 1.9
In 99 it was awful 7.6
2001 was his best year winning the mvp three games with a 3.4, 1.1 and 1.05
From there on out he was just plain bad
2002 7.5
2005 6.15
And 2006 7.95
He did have the amazing game in 2001 but he pitched extremely poorly in more than 50% of his postseasons.

Nice post. When he was mentioned I thought to myself "im pretty sure he was bad for a lot of his post season career"

If I had a time machine....

I put Big Train up against Pedro.

Zoikes! I need to start a time machine thread!

Is that the first Pedro has been mentioned!?!

Most dominant guy Ive ever seen with my own eyes, I think.

Definitely a Time Machine worthy matchup.
