Yep..and Whiteside is getting that same 100M tonight or tomorrow...

EXACTLY.
That's why Wiggy should quit stating what was available last year to what is now available as a comparison.

The cap spiked a ton, therefore the salaries go along with it.

Teams spending more for players now is essence are paying the same % of cap space as last year in probably most cases...so it's a wash as far as building a team.

The point with the Cavs was and still is, despite the huge jump, they can't add without subtraction.
see thisis where you just dont have the capacity to understand the cause and effect.

Guys this year- are going to get way more money- even the mediocre ones- because their is more overall cap space. That in TURN is going to drive up prices.

When you have a 25% revenue increase- but only - what? a quarter? less? of the players in the league are free agents- it all has to be sucked up somewhere.

A max is still a max- same percentage of the cap--- but BY FAR more guys will be getting maxes- or close to maxes...WAAAAAAAAAAAAY more. ITs common sense.

only difference is Love wont be stretched provisioned and playing in China before his deal runs out.

Maybe, maybe not.
I only care if he signs with the Heat, which I'm thinking he's not.

I think he's going to improve and be a force either way.
Hoping nothing but the best for him.

You can continue to hate, but you are pretty much batting 0 predicting his future so far.

Jesus Christ, quit acting like you are some cap guru talking to a child.

None of it changes the fact that Tristan isn't anything special as far as an NBA player.

Get over it already.

TELL US AGAIN, why should the Heat have unloaded Whiteside at the trade deadline?

Whiteside vs. Tristan: year two...

seems most everyone STILL would rather have Whiteside...:heh:

huh...
yah if u wanted pretty blocks choose whiteside

if u wanted to win and have a guy on the court every night- you- as always- would choose TT.

tough choice between 2k rating and who is actually good at the game of basketball, lol.

i think he is good at getting stats....if you think that is one-and-the-same, then more power to you.

I of course think production stat wise is very important- but when you go out of your way to pad your stats- which i think whiteside without a doubt has done- ESPECIALLY when it comes to blocks- its extremely counter-productive in a variety of ways.

when you combine that with his lack of a basketball IQ apparent through the frustrations his coach and teammates have displayed at times- as i have stated ad nausuem, its an easy answer who I would rather have.

If you were grading on JUST PURE TALENT AND POTENTIAL- there are probably not more than a couple-to-a-few dozen guys in the entire NBA that have a higher ceiling than Whiteside. Shit- there are so many guys sitting at home right now or sweeping floors that have had PLENTY of talent and potential to play in the NBA but never made it.

Last post season I saw Tristan do some amazing things- and once again average a double double in the NBA Finals- coming up huge when he was needed most- never missing games, making the right play, doing things on defense that maybe 3-4 other bigs in the league can do on NEAR his level- never complaining about role or starting or minutes- never complaining when the matchup favored plying Frye more minutes- or increasing his minutes when the matchup favored playing him.

If you are trying to win in the NBA- starting off with a power forward who is never hurt, is an A+ teammate, who is totally selfless, is one of the games best rebounders/offensive rebounders, is probably the game's BEST big at being able to switch the pick and roll but also big enough to guard the vast majority of centers, who while is not a great offensive player- is certainly a threat in the pick and roll (as we saw in the playoffs time and time again), etc.

I realize that Whiteside has more POTENTIAL and upside- but all those things- work ethic, intelligence, attitude, injury, selflessness, etc.----

you WIN with guys like Tristan Thompson. You LOSE with guys like Whiteside. If you have Tristan Thompson you are well on your way to establishing a great culture. If you have Whiteside you BETTER have a culture around him that will help him out because he is by far a net negative in that regard...

but this is all stuff all of us already know and have gone over ad nauseum. I like guys that win- not guys that search for stats and are worried about themselves.

maybe you think all that other stuff isnt important and the only way you grade a player is statistically- if thats the case i cant fault you for believing whiteside is better. You probably loved Shareef Abdual Rahim as a player also.

Funny how the Cavs were not winning with guys like Tristan until Lebron came to Cleveland? Funny how that works.

Tristan is such a winner but yet Cleveland did not have a winning season with Tristan until Lebron came there. #Winner

ya know how many times LeBron/CP3/Durant/ made the playoffs their first 2 seasons?

0/6 combined.

so if the Heat dont make the playoffs this year its Whitesides fault? thats what you are saying? All right. bookmarked...

surely if you are suggesting a 22 year old Tristan Thompson should have brought his team to the playoffs- itll be EASY as eating a slice of cake for the dominant-in-his-prime Whiteside who you believe is far better to do so....

no?

If you're that dumb to not realize the major reason the Cavs made the playoffs the last two seasons was Lebron James. You're an idiot. Swap Tristan with Joel Anthony and Cleveland still makes the playoffs. Tristan Thompson is a winner because he plays with Lebron James. Nothing more
