I ate my first Brussels sprout last night. Grilled with garlic and some other stuff. I have to admit it was pretty damn good.

They are damn good when prepared properly, aren't they? Love that charred flavor when you cook them like that...

Sushi was one fore sure. Why eat raw fish when you can cook it? Well, slap some tuna on rice and call me happy.

Same here. I've been getting into it lately. I haven't gone really fishy yet but it's still new territory for me. I went to a sushi place for the first time at lunch on Wednesday and just ordered the chef's special and they picked each one for me and I just dove in. I couldn't tell you what the other two types were but one of them was spicy tuna rolls. My only complaint is that I really like wasabi and found that there wasn't really enough.

Nothing wrong with asking for more wasabi!!! If its a good place, and you're feeling adventurous, order Omakase, which means whatever sushi/sashimi the Chef feels is the best and freshest that day. They might serve you something you NEVER would've tried raw and end up loving it...

Forced to & liked:

Peanut Butter & Bacon Burger
Thai peanut sauce, sambal mayo, house cured bacon, and cilantro on pretzel bun with peanut butter.

I know this one isn't very "outside the box", but its the first thing that came to mind. And I love almost all foods, so there isn't much forced tastings in my life. But for this burger my first thought was, peanut butter on a burger? The fuck? Peanut butter AND BACON??? Alright that's got my attention. My friend had eaten it at the pub we were at so he was very adamant about me ordering it once I voiced my opinion about it sounding odd. I was about 6 microbrews deep, so it didn't take much convincing... But mother of god it was delicious.

Forced to & didn't like:

Head cheese
definition from wiki:
Meat jelly made with flesh from the head of a calf or pig, or less commonly asheep or cow, and often set in aspic. The parts of the head used vary, but the brain, eyes, and ears are usually removed. The tongue, and sometimes the feet and heart, may be included. It can also be made from quality trimmings from pork and veal, adding gelatin to the stock as a binder.
