No one wants to play in the playoffs anyway.....add the Ducks to the list of the sucker programs who buy into the " your out of cobference SoS matters" nonsense people keep peddling.

On a day we get ready to watch Oklahoma ( who played 4-8 Houston, FCS South Dakota and 4-8 UCLA ) compete with Baylor ( who played 3-9 Rice, FCS Stephen F Austin and 4-8 UTSA ) for what is likely to be the last playoff spot it really has to make Oregon feel good to know they are a bunch of fucking suckers.

If Oregon had scheduled a chump instead of Auburn, we'd be on the outside looking in, as Baylor and OU have stronger resumes.

Losing to Auburn has nothing to do with it. Late nov loss to Az st does

If they had and still lost to Az State they would still be behind OU and likely Baylor. If they beat Auburn and lose that game they’re likely in the drivers seat.

How so? I grant you you wouldnt be in for 100% but if you played Indians instead of Auburn i see no reason you wouldnt have just as good a shot as the B12 winner.

Our SOS would have been VERY low. Also, ASU is a worse loss than KSU or OU, and Oregon would only have 2 wins vs top 25 teams.

Wrong. The reason your not in contention now is your extra loss. The extra loss isnt ASU , its Auburn. You cant avoid ASU. You can avoid Auburn

No they wouldn’t. Their only ranked win would be over Utah.

Pretty sure when Ohio State went to Norman and beat Oklahoma, that was a major factor in them making the playoffs when they didn't win their division.

If you win top OOC games, they really do boost your resume, and if you lose them, you just can't drop another.

I am no Duck fan, but I am wearing a tie-dye t-shirt I bought at the Eugene Saturday Market on my recent trip to Oregon. So, let me say this, CFB is better off with Oregon playing Auburn than not. The Ducks are going to the Rose Bowl as Pac-12 Champions. Not a bad deal at all!

And USC.

Yall know Utah was ranked 5th going into last night right? ( despite no ranked wins and a shitty SoS)

Oregon would have been in same position they are now. Undefeated had they scheduled a lesser team and won in game 1 would have had them top 6 ish. Then lose to AZ state they fall back

USC is not ranked and Oklahoma would’ve jumped Utah with a win today.

2 loss ducks should get in over Baylor. Committee makes a statement and our September’s become a lot more fun. You schedule in the OOC and you will be rewarded. Everybody schedules and then we get a lot clearer picture of how strong conferences are.

Y'all keep bringing up SOS like the committee members understand that silly matrix, much less uses it.

It's a beauty contest. That is it. Nothing more....

Utah had a better loss than Oregon.

And a worse one thsn Baylor. Yet they were still ahead of them . Its not only about your loss.

A 12-1 Oregon would be very much in play for the last playoff spot especially given how they looked last night. Youre lying to yourself if you think otherwise
