Oregon's was due to A&M backing out.

I can't speak to that. I went off of what wiki stated was scheduled/played. But to be fair, I also counted Nebraskas game against Bethune-Cookman even though Akron was originally scheduled.

I figured that, because I don't think you're allowed to schedule more than one FCS opponent for the regular season... I could be wrong though.

You can but only one counts towards your bowl eligibility, and even that has some rules (see FSU 2017 season) so instead of winning 6 games you have to win 7.

Except the NCAA changed the rules to allow FSU to be bowl eligible in 2017.

Just finishing the 2017 season — period — will likely be a relief to Florida State fans.

If only they knew what was awaiting them in 2018 lol

Here's another 'Fun Fact': The ACC & SEC have four OOC games and the other three P5 conferences not so much.

You could schedule all of your OOC games as FCS teams if you so desired, but only one game counts toward bowl eligibility so you better win at least five of your conference games.

No they don't. The ACC & SEC have four OOC games vs the PAC's 3. Now do the math.

Are all 4 of those ACC and SEC OOC opponents G5 or FCS? No

If 2 of those OOC's are against P5 opponents they do not count in the percentages.

Again: P5 OOC opponents weren't calculated into those percentages. Only G5 and FCS.

Now do the math

Again from the OP. I didn't crunch or verify these numbers. I simply read basic English.

SEC: 43 of their 56 OOC games were with G5 or FCS opponents, 76% of all OOC games were G5 or FCS. Specifically, 15 of the 43 were FCS = 32%.

ACC: 37 of their 56 OOC games were with G5 or FCS opponents, 66% of all OOC games were G5 or FCS. Specifically, 14 of the 37 were FCS = 37%.

PAC12: 27 of their 36 OCC games were with G5 or FCS opponents, 75% of all OOC games were G5 or FCS. Specifically, 9 of the 27 were FCS = 33%

Big12: 19 of their 30 OOC games were with G5 or FCS opponents, 63% of all OOC games were G5 or FCS. Specifically, 8 of the 19 were FCS = 42%.

B1G: 26 of their 42 OOC games were with G5 or FCS opponents, 61% of all OOC games were G5 or FCS. Specifically, 3 of the 26 were FCS = 11%.

OP is clearly referencing OOC G5 and FCS opponents.
Do you see anything about P5 OOC opponents in there? No

How many total OOC games doesn't fucking matter in those overall conference percentages. Only G5 and FCS opponents matter.

SEC: 76%
PAC12: 75%
ACC: 66%
Big12: 63%
Big10: 61%

So what you're saying is that the ACC and SEC play the least amount of Power 5 games, on average?
The numbers say SEC and PAC.

I didn't crunch the numbers.

.
The PAC plays more P5 opponents on average than the ACC & SEC when not just factoring the OOC and that was what @DHoey was alluding to.

And I was referring to the OP's G5 and FCS percentages.

If his calculations are correct, the SEC and PAC play more G5 and FCS than anyone else.

10% more.

As I also made clear, those percentages could be skewed by just a few teams in a conference who schedule nothing but G5 and FCS opponents OOC.

In that case it doesn't fucking matter whether a conference plays 8 or 9 conference opponents.

Conferences playing 9 'conference' opponents can still be feasting on nothing but G5 and FCS opponents in those OOC games.

When you only have 3 OOC games you can afford to feast on cupcakes seeing how you already have 9 P5 opponents compared to the ACC & SEC's 8 before you factor in the OOC.

9 > 8

Great. But that has nothing to do with the OP's point in that the SEC and PAC played more G5 and FCS opponents than anyone else.

For those interested, here are the P5 OOC teams in the same format but with team names. I didn't run percentages though, you can do that yourself if you want it. The ACC is a strange one because ND is partly involved as a conference team... sorta not though too. So I counted them as an independent still.

SEC
UGA – 1 (Gtech)
Kentucky – 1 Louisville
Florida – 1 FSU
South Carolina – 1 Clemson
Missouri – 1 Purdue

A&M – 1 Clemson
LSU – 1 Miami
Miss St – 1 KState
Auburn – 1 Washington
Ole Miss – 1 TTech

Total P5 = 13

ACC

I usually count all the P5 teams each conference plays ... entire schedule then I divide that total by the amount of teams in said conference ... so say the PAC played X amount of P5's ... I would divide X by 12 to get an average. This is where the ACC & SEC game the system. Each of those conferences have 14 members so when you add the total amount of P5 teams that the SEC plays for example and then divide it by 14 you'll see why they don't move to a 9 game conference schedule.
