Not sure how surprised you should be when it's UW, lol.
The worst part is accepting their invites. We're supposed to check out profiles to try and make sure they're Washington fans and a lot of them have 'I love Hillary' type crap all over their profile page ... so I just close my eyes and hit the 'accept button'.

PM me that group name buddy....Please...
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1612183799106658/

That link / group up above is where you can criticize Washington football .. unlike the link to the first group I posted. No coaches, their family, current Washington football players, staff members and recruits are allowed in that group ... so you can pretty much call it as you see it. The first group you have to be careful of what you say. There's recruits in there and nobody wants to piss them off for good reason. Same with coaches and their wives, etc .. Jimmy Lake's ol lady watches that group like a fvkng hawk and you have to be careful of what you say so she doesn't rat you out to her ol man.

I saw that in the Husky Nation group you can't post about politics. As an admin, that must be extremely challenging for you lol.

I see what you mean by the lack of criticism of the team on the Husky Nation page:

"Attention all armchair quarterbacks and unqualified wannabe D-1 College Football Coaches here suddenly unloading on the current Husky Head Coach. At least show enough respect for the position to know his name is Chris Petersen, not Chris PETERSON. Really hard to buy into your criticisms when you can’t even get his name correct."

One of the first posts I saw in there.

Translation: We're all mere mortals and incapable of criticizing the God-Coaches, lol.

Anytime I post something in there that doesn't sit well with the zombies I get the reply: 'so you think you know better than coach Petersen'. That's their fallback 9 out of 10 times in there. It's gotten to the point I don't post shit in there other than links to current UW news ... football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, rowing, etc ...

It's usually some Seattle liberal snowflake that brings politics into a convo so they get a warning and the post deleted. I'm old enough to remember when the majority of UW fans at the games were blue collar people from the shipyards, Weyerhouser, construction workers, etc .. and we used to get tanked and scream our heads off back then. No smart phones, no Starbucks and no gay parades. You had the Torchlite parade and Seafair and that was it.

I cannot imagine Seattle without these three things.

Slick Watts!
He played semi pro ball for a few years in Alaska after Lenny Wilkins cut him. Fans went apeshit when he got cut but didn't say shit about it after Lenny Wilkins coached Seattle to a championship finals series with the Bullets.

How's this sound for a coaching change ... as in adios Jonathan Smith.

Beau Baldwin OC

Kellen Moore QB's coach

or

Marques Tuiasosopo QB's coach

Baldwin to me wont make a move unless its a Head Coach job ( and that will be soon)

and Tui was here when Coach Pete was hired but wasn't retained? Which makes you think that something didn't click.

Of course this is my opinion

Toui was invited by Sark to join him at SC. I think that was part of the deal for him staying on and coaching UW in their bowl game vs BYU that season.

I'd love Baldwin, but I think @mcnabb7542 is right. I find it unlikely Baldwin leaves. I like what they're doing at Cal right now and I think he's going to have some head coaching positions knocking on his door pretty soon. No reason for him to take the same position at a better program in the same conference. Additionally, we still owe Smith $750,000 for 2018. I think uwdawgpound mentioned that Petersen has never fired an offensive coordinator before.

Kellen Moore's QB coach was Bryan Harsin I believe. He's currently the head coach at Boise State and I find it unlikely he'd be interested in taking a demotion.

Tui as a offensive coordinator is an interesting option. Although I will say I'd prefer someone with experience calling plays, or experience in Petersen's system.

If we were to replace Smith, I'd assume it would be after 2018 when his contract is up and it would either be an internal hire or someone who has previously worked with Petersen.

Smith is making $200+ grand more than Baldwin .... he's clearly overpaid. Petersen is making $5 mil. a year to win games and he knows Smith is the weak link ... hence the reason he waited a year before he gave him an extension and why he brought Tedford in to hold his hand. I just pray Petersen unloads him after this season and UW eats the cost. Smith's play calling is killing us.

Yeah but either way, UW would be on the hook to pay Smith $750,000 next year in addition to whatever they have to pay to buy out Baldwin's contract + his salary.

Even though UW is the better program right now, I don't see that Baldwin would have all that much interest swapping offensive coordinator positions unless it came with a massive pay raise. Although I think Baldwin is immensely talented, Petersen has a long tradition of hiring "his" guys.

I just wish that Tedford was still here and could just replace Smith.

Unless UW loses more than 2 games I don't think Smith is gone, unfortunately.

What’s the catch? A bird’s-eye view of UW’s receivers

@AlaskaGuy @mcnabb7542

Pretty interesting analysis. The writers here seem to think it wasn't entirely Smith's fault, but a combination of things.

I think a good counterfactual to apply to this situation would be, "Does UW win this game with a different offensive coordinator?"

The answer I'd say is maybe. There were many other problems aside from the play calling in addition to it.

How many carries did the UW RB's have vs Browning and then look at pass attempts. The numbers don't lie.
