Had they been with the Seattle offense as long as Russell Wilson has.

I'll start a list of the QBs I think would have won it with Seattle as well. The bolded names are questionable, but I still think could've qb'ed the Seahawks to a Super Bowl last year. That defense was the reason for the title. Anyway, In no particular order....

Peyton
Brady
Rodgers
Brees
Luck
Eli
Roethlisburger
Ryan
Dalton
Flacco
Rivers
Smith
Stafford
Cutler
Cam
Healthy RG3
Romo
Foles
Kaepernick

That is 14-20 QBs that could have done it.

Peyton - Dead
Brady - Dead
Rodgers - Yes
Brees - Yes
Luck - Intercepted to death
Eli - Hahahaha, no
Roethlisburger - Yes if not injured
Ryan - No
Dalton - Ha, no
Flacco - Possible
Rivers - Dead
Smith - Maybe
Stafford - Dead
Cutler - Ornery and no
Cam - Yes
Healthy RG3 - Doesn't exist
Romo - Ha no
Foles - Too early to know
Kaepernick - Too many bad decisions

You seriously are not understanding how unstable the Offensive line was last year. They were terrible in pass protection, so what made Russell so danger-Russ ; ) was his ability to escape and extend plays while also making very sound decisions and not giving the ball away. Any of those older stoic QBs would not have succeeded as much as Wilson did. I also eliminated QBs who are prone to turnovers, which is something this team absolutely despises, and those who have done nothing (Ryan)

You could argue that every QB and their backup could've won the Super Bowl. Only 1 QB actually did tho, and in his 2nd season.

As a season, as a whole, it's unlikely they would have gotten home field advantage throughout the playoffs without strong QB play, and even less likely they would have made it past San Francisco. The main thing Russell Wilson does is protect the football. A downgrade at QB means more turnovers, which is never a recipe for success.

With that said, as far as the Super Bowl game itself goes, I believe Seattle could have lined up Paul Allen at QB and still won that game. I mean... considering Seattle's defense and special teams scored more points that the Bronco's entire team. All the QB actually had to do was, well, nothing at all.

I think there are a couple on that list that are no brainers. Brees and Rodgers for sure. I think Brady could have done it too. Even though he doesn't move well, he knows offense inside and out and what defenders are coming at him. I think with the Run game and his brain he'd still make that team go. There are a handful of others that are maybe's, maybe nots.

But none of that should take away from the ability of Wilson. He's a good young quarterback. If it weren't for Rodgers being our QB, i'd probably be very happy to say Wilson was behind center.

If the team is SO GOOD that they can win it with almost anyone at QB, its hard to find anyone else with a better chance to win it again this year.

All those guys probably could have, but that's more of a statement about Seattle's D and running game than insult to Wilson. Wilson may well grow into an elite guy, but the key to Seattle being good for a long time or great for a long time will be what kind of cast they can keep around him as he jumps to an 8 figure contract and the rest of the NFL overpays and takes their supporting players. Aaron Rodgers is the best QB in the league IMO, and has been for a while, but the Pack are still stuck on one with him at QB because of a lack of help

You laughed at Eli, but he has taken worse teams, teams that barely made the playoffs, and led the team to win the Super Bowl. One being against an undefeated Patriots team.

I don't consider Tom Brady dead. He is still making playoffs with a team that is basically dead.

I think Matt Ryan could.

You say Kaep makes too many bad decisions, which I would agree he's not as good as RW, he was only inches away from going to their 2nd straight Super Bowl with one of the worst NFL passing offenses.

I tend to agree with you on the other QBs.

If you would have read my post, the "dead" comments refer to the fact that Seattle's O line was terrible in pass protection last year so Peyton and Brady wouldn't have done what Wilson did because they'd be fucking dead, not that they are dead.

My bad Peyton had only 18 sacks and Brady 40. I agree about pass protection but keep in mind half has to do with how quick the QB can get it off. The year Brady was out Cassell had 3x as many sacks as Brady with same 0-line. Pocket passers that get rid of ball quick and dont survey the field for 5 seconds can be effective. either one would have been fine with Seattle's O-line

I agreed with Peyton. I think Brady would still have been able to win it.

Peyton has struggled far more than had success with major pressure. That seemed to be when Brady shined.

Also, I credit Super Bowl win and their success with Seattle's defense more than RW.

Agreed on Eli.

His Super Bowl winning 2011 NY Giants ranked:
- #25 in points allowed
- #27 in yards allowed
- #32 in rushing yards

Although to be fair, even though I saw it with my own eyes, I still find it difficult to believe.

I have no clue why fans do this. Who cares? Team game, Team Championship!

another assumption made here is this plug and play different QB mentality.
Really? So we're just to assume all decisions made throughout the game would be the same?
15/20 different QB's woulda won it also? PLEASE!....makes for good reading I suppose

Makes for good discussion. "What if" and comparisons are fun to talk/debate about.

We get it. Russell Wilson plays behind a below-average offensive line with an average receiving corps, but because his defense is good, anybody could have the 2nd highest QB Rating ever if they were in his shoes. Got it.

Manning and Brady are very good at quick reads and releasing the ball without holding on to it too long.
