You said the dumb kids go to the military.
That's not what I meant
~U know who~
You said the dumb kids go to the military.
WRONG. Had he gone into the military he'd have been paid while going to school. If he applied himself he may have earned nearly enough credits to graduate in those 4 years, before separating from the military, then continued on with about a year left of school. That last year of school he might of landed a decent paying job off of his military experience. So here’s the deal IMO. If you went to the military you would have delayed 4 years of earning. Since you said you make more then 70 grand I’ll go with 75 grand. You are passing up 300,000 of income to spend 4 years in the military to knock out college loans. If you owe more then 300,000 in loans it would have been worth going to the military ... but I doubt it’s a 1/3 of that.
PayScale estimates the typical graduate with zero to five years experience makes $48,400. The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) calculates that the preliminary average starting salary for graduates from the class of 2018 is about $50,004.I don’t know what questions you asked me?
I didn’t say freshman in college make 70,000. I said AFTER they graduate they start earning.
Don’t know why your panties are in a bind for me thinking it’s more effective to go right to college and pay off the loans when you start working. What’s the big issue? You’re saying it’s waaaay better to go to the military for 4 years and then go to college? I disagree.
Did you know that on top of basic military pay troops also get feed or extra $$ for food and quarters (housing) or extra money for that.He didn’t make anything in college but he gets 4 year headstart of making real money not $18000 a year. And when that military kid goes to college he also isn’t making any money from 22 to 26. Did I answer your question?
You really didn’t ask me any questions and claimed victory and said I ignored your questions and there weren’t any. WTF dude.
You’re acting like I’m a raving lunatic for saying “Go to CC for 2 years, then University for 2 years and start working full time at 22 instead of 26. I think your career and monies will be better served by then. Is that such awful advice? Then you rant and rave about how you schooled be and how I didn’t answer the questions you never asked. Why does everything have to be a fucking game and full of insults?
Another advantage of joining the miltary, medical is covered even for your dependents.Yeah, unfortunately things aren't that simple for us financially right now. She's got some pretty serious medical problems going on and also can't work.
That’s all fine and dandy. I guess you’re saying everyone should go to the military because financially it’s the better route. I disagree. The catch 22 is that we need military but you never address the PTSD, the depression, the incredible suicide rate. The getting killed for student loan debt. What about that part.
Can you tell me what dudes get a 6 figure bonus for doing the 4 year inlist? Is this common or a one in a million?

They do. Doesn’t mean smart and talented kids don’t go too. But the kids who do well in HS and get accepted to top colleges choose college over University. Many kids who struggle in school who don’t have options go to the military. How many kids that get accepted to Duke, the Ivy League, Stanford, Berkeley, Michigan say.... nah... Fuck college I’m going to be a GI and see where that takes me. But there are plenty of smart kids that wind up in the military cause they want to serve. Many smart kids interested in Military but definitely I’ve seen the elite scholars choose University and a lot of struggling kids go to the military but that’s not
Every single one.
Likely more common then getting a $70k job straight out of school.
It's really too easy. I googled military bonuses and the hits just kept coming. Haha even the Marines can get a $90k bouns.
Marines Can Pocket Up to $90K in New Re-Up Bonuses
Air Force ups maximum retention bonus to $100K, plans big expansion
$150,000 bonus offered for some Special Forces
Air Force ups maximum retention bonus to $100K, plans big expansion
Oh and if you re-enlist in a combat zone while getting PTSD the bonus and your pay is tax free.
About time you started back tracking.
However I can also point out many not so intellegent kids go to community college or four year schools to include trade and culinary institutes.
Likewise some of the smartest kids go to West Point, Annapolis or the AF Academy as well as other service acadamies like the Citadel, Virginia Military Institute.
Hmmmm what does this do to your initial posts?
Or this?
There are 5 elite US service academies that prepare the next generation of the American military
Niether did the 4 years of college.Cool. Let’s go with 50,000 to start. That’s 200,000 over 4 years that you would have been in the Army. We’ve only been talking about the kid who wants to escape loans. That 200,000 lost while in the Army isn’t worth passing up to get college paid for. All I’m saying is those 4 years of making $200,000 outweigh what you make in the military and getting school paid for. That’s all I’m saying. I don’t think 4 years in the military will net you 200,000 worth of pay and school benefits. Get it?
Niether did the 4 years of college.
You have to take into account that college student accumulated 4 years of debt before making $50k.
I've already shown you a brand spanking new E1 makes $50 a year or better starting day one in the military.
Your math is flawed.
Those have nothing to do with the scenario we are talking about. We were talking about kids who want a degree. Should the go to the military first or just go to college. Now you are bring up totally different scenarios.
Wow... what a deal. Get a devastating mental disease that fucks your life and you’ll get out of taxes. Think I’ll pass.
Your reading comp for an educator SUCKS. Did I not say the military is not for everyone? Did I not say "unlike you" I didn't take a stand. I just pointed out multiple places you were wrong in this thread.
It's more common then a student making $70k. There are multiple fields that get a six figure bonus. I don't know them all and it changes based on the needs of the service. Special Ops for one, nuke submariners, some medical equipment types...
Too easy I just googled military bonuses and here is the first thing that popped up.
Sorry but the military isn't the only one with PTSD or other issues. It is sad we're losing so many. All high stress jobs are seeing trends going up. Police are losing members at an alarming rate.
But let's stay on topic. Or should I start bringing up campus rapes, murders, arrests, date r*pe, hazing gone wrong, vandalism, ODs, assaults...?
You really should stop. You're way over your head. Or at least answer my questions. I'm at least man enough to answer your nonesense.
You asked who made a six figure bonus. I showed you.
My PTSD remark was tougne in cheek based on your moronic comments about PTSD with regard to the military and failing to mention the police officers, postal workers and so on who also suffer at alarming rates. I know a whole lot more service members who don't have PTSD than do.
Didn’t Manster say you need college first before you can achieve that? Stay on the discussion dude.
No more of a horrible point you're trying to make. Yes there are plenty of problems on campus and surrounding areas. However the #s just get compiled with all the other civil suits. Military PTSD is focused on one control group.Such a horrible horrible point on the campus issues. It’s a problem but we don’t have tons of college grads getting PTSD and commiting suicide because of legit campus problems. Come on man. You brag and brag about how you’re killing me and that was just horrible. Do we have a national problem mental health problem solely because the dangers of campus life. That was terrible and I expect much more from you.
Yeah, you showed me a list of military careers that have absolutely nothing to do with what we are talking about.
