How did everyone do so far?

My son and I pounded our leased property for 6 days and only managed to bag a small doe. Not much mind you but still have some backstraps for New Years Eve.

nothing yet. I've only been up a tree twice this year. I'm thinking I may go over the Christmas weekend and try twice more.

This year's haul includes 8 Ducks, no pheasants, two quail (hard to hit them fast flyin bastards), one lizard, a couple of extreme jihadists (never found them due to a lost blood trail), 62 mosquitoes, 4 bees and a partridge in a pear tree.

Failed on the mammal hunts, no time to pursue.

2 bucks in the freezer , worst season in decades. I say this becuz I saw fewer deer than I have in 39 yrs of deer hunting. Last winter was the coldest on record here and we had a shitload of snow and had it late. LOTS of deer died last winter and man was it shitty hunting this season. I own 80 acres I use strictly for deer hunting. I have 8 acres of foodplots , lots of cover and 3 streams - it's all there. I avg seeing about 2 deer/hr over the course of the season. Our rifle season is 6+ weeks long , I saw 2 deer the entire rifle season. Saw a few more during archery/muzzleloader but you get the idea. Weather is warm here now and no snow yet/ Hopefully this con't and the deer have an easy winter. Then again , we had no snow this time last yr also.

that's a heck of a season! Well it's Feb 5 and we have no snow right now , thank God for El Nino!
