they are not all always crazy expensive, the last one i got took about 2 hours, and a guy i know at a shop goes for $125 an hour...i know another guy that does them for $50 an hour...so i got it for $100 rather than $250.

That all depends on what you are getting. There are many factors. Some shops are specialized in certain types of tattoos. Some people are proficient in black/grey work and portraits. Some are geared more towards japanese style ink. Some are specialized in traditional American work. Just gotta find the right guy. Some charge by the piece, some charge by the hour. Some will do it for a bag of weed.

Why are we assuming these kids are so poor? A full scholarship could save a kid and his fam $100,000+ they otherwise would have spent, and most of them also get housing/living stipends that more than cover any expenses they incur in a college town.

i think many people just have the preconceived idea that the majority of the players are from poor backgrounds, when many are likely from middle class families.
