Yea, by the time you mow the hole thing ...one side needs to cut again.
Fortunately, "only" about 4-5 acres is cleared to require mowing and about half of that is still under tree canopies so they don't need it as often.
As far as horror possibilities, we see bear scat all the time and periodically one will wander near the house. The one we recognize is a big 350 lb black bear that has been around here longer than we have.
Also a big coyote pack is sometimes literally right next to us (they have a large range). They aren't really dangerous to grown humans but the howling can be freaky as hell on a late night full moon!
I'm just glad that we don't have the brown (grizzly) bears here. Those big fuckers are scary!
