God I hope not. I just want to forget the AvP abortions.

Writing was poor.
I'd like to see what a creative team with $$$ form Netflix, Amazon, Peacock, etc. could do with it.

Yeah I am kind of in the category that I think most movie ideas/concepts can work with the right story, acting, and directing. So I believe AvP could be done well.

If somebody told me the Aliens wind up in Antarctica and a team goes to investigate and comes across the camp from The Thing, who isn't all in on that???

Which begs the question, could The Thing impersonate an alien xenomorph or a predator?????

I think it could do a predator, but I'm sure about the xenomorph. The exoskeleton being made of a silicone base and the acidic blood indicate that it is possibly not a carbon based lifeform, so..........??

I did read in one article that the exoskelton somehow draws at least some silicone particulate from external atmospheric sources.

Another interesting theory is that the exoskeleton is actually a "mesoskeleton" in that it has both internal and external support structures. This is an explanation for such a large creature being able to move with an exoskeleton.

I Survived a Zombie Holocaust (2014)
*Not to be confused with I Survived a Zombie Apocalypse from 2015

Brief synopsis: A recent film school grade gets a job as a runner on a zombie movie with a big director but gets shit on by everyone at every turn. A real zombie outbreak occurs and the lines between film and reality get blurred while a group of "heros" fight to survive. Can our wimpy hero survive and win the girl? Can the main star achieve his goal of banging the lead actress? Can the director get any of the shots to work? Hmmmmmm........

I went into this one with low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Not getting any Academy nominations, but still a pretty funny zomedy with lots of guts and gore.

The good:
*Pretty hilarious at times. Lots of horror genre specific humor and most of it works on some level.
*The storyline isn't groundbreaking but they do a good job of following it through. It can be quite clever.
*Good fxs! Lots of gore. The zombies looked pretty good.

The bad:
*Acting is cheesy and over the top but it is largely intentional to fit the mood of the movie. Still, they mostly ham it up, overact, etc.
*It is what it is. Don't expect Citizen Kane. Heck, don't even expect Shaun of the Dead. But it is well above SyFy fare.

I give it a 6 out of 10. Comparable to Deadheads imo.

The Empty Man......

When you're on a bridge and find a bottle, blow in it and think of The Empty Man. What was the other movie that when you say the bad guys name a couple times he appears. I am not thinking of Beetlejuice.

Sweetheart on Netflix is a decent creature feature. Gets right into it and keeps it short which I love in a horror movie. Thought the ending was a bit underwhelming but still a good watch.

That movie was incredibly confusing.
