I am not saying you are wrong in your concerns about Hamels but as for me I am glad to take the risk. We are hurting in this area. We can talk all we want about the guys who are on the mend but until I see Darvish, Holland and Perez back in form I have my own concerns there. And I really do not want a rotation where we have 1 or 2 decent starters and the rest are guys who once they get to 2 strikes can't make it happen. We will be spinning our wheels for sure.

No problem. What in your opinion do the numbers have to be to make this worth the risk or not worth the risk? In terms of ERA and WHIP what is the high end that you will be satisfied with?

I think Perez starts pitching for us about July 28th and finishes the year with an ERA of 4.20. Chi Chi probably comes up when we trade Gallardo about the same time Perez arrives.

I think Gallo arrives well before September. Mazara is here in August. I think Alfaro starts about half of our games in September.

We will see where he is at at the end of the year if he stays in the American League, but so far I was wrong about what kind of numbers he would put up. On the other hand, the previous year's numbers against the AL were not that far off from what he has done so far. I guess I should have looked at those.
