Rex Burkhead is very good. As I said the other day, he will be in the Heisman chatter to start next season.

If the Huskers win out this year and he continues to do what he's doing, his name will come up in that "on the outside but looking in" category of the Heisman yet this season....yes, this season

I have thought that those 3 freshmen have needed to get touches in some way, shape or form since the Wyoming game but I haven't seen much. I am not complaining that Burkhead gets a lot of carries, he's the best I Back we have, by far...it just seems like the staff hasn't been given that comfort factor in any of them to give them a full meaningful drive.

Shit, when you look at the plays they get in there for I bet 75% of them are tosses. That's pretty basic, fundamental football with little to no thought needed. Run your question mark, get down-hill & read your blocks----out in space, not inside. Sooner or later, one of those 3 freshmen need to be given a chance to succeed or fail in a meaningful drive with plays other than tosses.

Again, not bitching cuz I really enjoy watching Burkhead do his thing. Just sayin'

The main point of my thread is I don't want to see Burkhead worn out to the point of being injured. We're going to need him the whole season. Burkhead reminds me of a wild bull the way he runs with wreckless abandon. To me he has the same kind of running style and ability that Toby Gerhart from Stanford had. I still think Gerhart should have won the Heisman over Ingram in 2009.

Yes they need to get some real experience because you never know when they'll be needed.

all three need to get in the weight room. I don't know that Green won't be. Green is an incredibly athletic kid. If you give him a shot he is more gifted than all of the RB's we have on the roster. Including Rex.
