STUDIt is a different game.
I feel stupid now having posted that. He had a solid outing. I think I'm just holding him up to ridiculously high standards because I want to see him pitch like a guy who can start the All-Star game in Seattle and strike out the side. Not the guy we thought we were getting from Cincy. At times he has looked like King Felix while other times he has looked like Court Jester Carlos Silva...just kidding. Not that bad, but he he goes from Ace to #3 week to week.
Last night I noticed he was trying to paint the corners, but was off a bit at times, which would get him behind in the count. I know I'm making the world's most obvious comment here, but he's at his best when his pitches are hitting the strikezone in those corners. Hitters tend to lay off of his stuff both when he hits his location and when he misses it. If they swing? Good luck.Castillo has a pretty nice running fastball ... but his hittable pitch is the slider. it is not a big breaker or a real sharp breaker.
Very often it just floats / hangs in the zone spinning and not much movement.
he has the worst breaking ball of any pitcher on the 25 man roster for the Mariners.
It just wouldn't be a game without us botching a play.nothing like a little league play in the 1st inning and gift them a run to start the game
stay hot M's
Not stupid at all. Factual actually. He is an Ace and should be judged as one. Yes his off games are still better than most good games around the league, but he still isn't Ace on a consistent bases. Last night he fought for a win and it was more of a #3 outing to me considering the opponent. Still like having him, but I am picturing these outings vs Astros or Rays in a playoff game. That won't go well.I feel stupid now having posted that. He had a solid outing. I think I'm just holding him up to ridiculously high standards because I want to see him pitch like a guy who can start the All-Star game in Seattle and strike out the side.
Every team has to have one rep so they won't be shutout. Sewald or Castillo if nothing else should make it.It's not looking like any M's players will be on the All-Star team hosting at their own ballpark . Has that ever happened before? Kinda a gut punch if not.
Ok. Didn't know that.Every team has to have one rep so they won't be shutout. Sewald or Castillo if nothing else should make it.
I think they call it the Mariners Rule...lol. I get the rule because it is for fans, but it takes away the greatness of being called an All-Star to me. Remember a few years back we had Vogelbach in it? Sad.Ok. Didn't know that.
I like her in the studio or on the side doing interviews, but I can't handle an entire game of her.Angie is an awesome background for this team and has been for a minute. Cute too (Just me)...Just don't feel the broadcast thing. Almost to stat happy..
