If you take out every game Walker played at Coors, he's a .282/.372/.500/.873 hitter with 27 HRs, 92 RBI, 93 runs, and 18 stolen bases per season who played very good defensive RF. With the vast majority of those games coming on the road.

I don't think his home/road splits should keep him out.

Now, lets move on to Larry Walkers home and away splits....

What helps Walker imo is that he hit at a high level both before and after his time with the Rockies, and these were probably non-prime years...

-his last 3 years with the Expos' at ages 25-27, he hit .294 with a 137 OPS+
-at the end of his career with the Cards at age 37-38, he hit .286 with 26 HR (in 465 ABs) and a 134 OPS+

So if he could hit that well at age 25-27 and 37-38 while not a Rockie, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt that he could've been an elite/borderline elite player had he been with another team from age 27-37.

Walker was really good before he went to Colorado. Even a park adjusted stat like OPS+ has him on par with Vlad and he was 100x better as a baserunner and fielder than Vlad was.

You're way off on all this stuff.

Put away the plus signs or something man.

But it's not just advanced stats. Jeter's BA was 38 points higher, his OBP was 41 points higher, and his slugging percentage was 88 points higher. Just like how Omar's defense was incomparably better, Jeter's offensive stats blow him out of the water. And look at the baserunning stats I posted as well, Jeter was much better in that regard as well.

Jeter might've been able to handle third.

But would he be an impressive hitter at a corner spot, not really.

I agree. But at the end of the day, he was a shortstop even if he never really resembled one with the glove. And he outhit the vast majority of players to ever play the position.

he never reached career averages outside of home games as a Rockie.

27 is Prime, unless a guy goes to Colorado after that.

Jeter could've posted those stats as a DH.

Manny Ramirez isn't getting elected for his defense anymore than Jeter is.

But he didn't, he put them up as a shortstop.

In no particular order...

Mussina, Schilling, Vlad, Hoffman, Manny, McGriff, Chipper, Kent, Santana, Walker

eh, I've stated my positions on those players earlier. I don't think it's a bad ballot by any means though. my only real complaint is voting for a relief pitcher over starting pitchers, especially Schilling and Mussina (both of whom I think are easy HOFers).

I question the validity of this ballot. I did a google search of this Lebrun jabrony, and it looks like he is a soccer analyst for ESPN Deportes. And there were no quickly found articles written by him.

I don’t believe this is a valid ballot.

So why does he have a vote? Does he even cover beisbol?

I just have a serious issue with anyone who does not vote the same way for Bonds and Clemens. If you ignore the roads arguement, they are both absolute no-brainers, who are all-time elites, even beyond the HOF. If you exclude the roiders, fine, but then you can’t have Sosa or Manny in either.

His ballot reeks of some personal vendetta.
