how on earth does someone leave Ichiro off a ballot
Tired of asking those questions. It was probably a ny writer who wants Mariano to be the only one.
how on earth does someone leave Ichiro off a ballot
How do B&C go through 10 cycles without ever getting in?how on earth does someone leave Ichiro off a ballot
Wagner doesn’t belong anywhere near the Hall without getting his hand stamped as he goes in so he can get back in in the afternoon. But at least the writers put in the correct 3.

Not a dying-hill, granted. But a strong opinion I have. I never once saw him pitch and thought “Wow. There goes a future HOFer. I am lucky to be watching him.”Again. I disagre. One of the best closers of all time. And one of the best lefty rps of all time.

His numbers look a lot like Mariano's actually. Higher K/9, lower WHIP, only .10 higher ERAWagner doesn’t belong anywhere near the Hall without getting his hand stamped as he goes in so he can get back in in the afternoon.
And yet when I watched Omar Vizquel play I thought the opposite. Sometimes the eye test is deceiving (although Omar certainly deserves it over Ozzie Smith)Not a dying-hill, granted. Mariano is an anecdotal HOFer. And there is no way he deserves to be the first/only unanimous HOFer.His numbers look a lot like Mariano's actually. Higher K/9, lower WHIP, only .10 higher ERA
Not saying he's better but he's close to the guy who got in unanimously
I have stumped for Omar off and on over the years. I thought he was when I watched him, and he had that air about him during his career. But when you look at his numbers, he really is borderline at best. And yet when I watched Omar Vizquel play I thought the opposite. Sometimes the eye test is deceiving (although Omar certainly deserves it over Ozzie Smith)

Already said Mariano is better. But Wagners numbers are just as good not counting the games he has no control how many times he gets to pitch inNow compare their playoff stats…….

And he's a unanimous HOFer because of it. Just pushing back on people not supporting Wagner when his (regular season, meaning most of them) numbers are basically the same. His post season numbers were terrible in a small sample…..Mariano was actually better in the post season and faced a DH his entire career in a pretty strong AL East…..
Omar doesn’t deserve it at all. He was a straight-up compiler and was probably the 6th or 7th best player on some of those stacked Indians teams in the 90’s. He was very good, but not HOF.And yet when I watched Omar Vizquel play I thought the opposite. Sometimes the eye test is deceiving (although Omar certainly deserves it over Ozzie Smith)
