Disclaimer: ***This is not an argument for HOF inclusion***

I'm surprised Ian Kinsler got so little love. The fact that he couldn't get even 5% of the votes needed to stay on the ballot, while guys like Omar Vizquel, Francisco Rodriguez, Jimmy Rolliins, David Wright, Felix Hernandez, Torii Hunter and Dustin Pedroia did is ridiculous. Not saying all these guys should have been eliminated from ballots as well, just don't know why their numbers were so much better (most of them weren't) that they got some traction and Kinsler did not.
Cleveland and Detroit.

If you arent at least borderline, and you didn’t play in the tri-state area or for the dogs, it is VERY hard to stay on the ballot.

I am agnostic on Kinsler. He would never receive a vote from me, and I don’t really think he deserves to be passed to the next ballot, but there is certainly a double standard for some clubs vs others.

the player i was surprised most about who got no love was Hanram... he was actually one of the best players in baseball for a while...

no, he is nowhere near a HOF, but id like to have seen him at least make it to NEXT years ballot...
I agree that he was good, but he fell fast. As for remaining on the ballot, I am more in favor of him than Kinsler. The fact he played for the dogs and Sox makes it surprising he didn’t have more staying power (though his “HOF” years were in Miami).

Though, his lack of bolded numbers may have been the main reason he didn’t advance.

I was surprised that he got not a single vote. Yet guys like Carlos Gonzalez, Adam Jones, Brian McCann and Russell Martin got votes. The HOF ballot is always an interesting adventure into "what were they thinking?"
Lots of beats throw votes to “their guys”. Happens every year.

I lump Kinsler in with Pedroia. I think both were HOF caliber players, but I think the injuries keep both out
