My ballot would be: Bonds, Clemens, Guerrero, Hoffman, Jones, Martinez, Mussina, Ramirez, Thome, Walker
And apparently the HOF will not have public ballots this year like they claimed.
Jayson Stark revealed his ballot:
Vizquel is an interesting one... He was the best defensive SS of his era... And had the longevity with a decent bat...
But does it hurt him, that we have seen defensive first SS make it already?? Should every BEST of an era defensively make it??
Almost certainly no, but with room for argument...
If edgar doesnt get in my jimmies will be rustled
Mussina, Manny, Schilling have a better case than most of your 'maybes'
I wasn’t speaking to who I think will get in. I am speaking about my ballot.
Will Bond's head fit on ONE plaque?
Will Chipper Jone's [email protected] fit on ONE plaque?
Depends on which Barry Bond's head to which you speak of.
Vizquel is Mark Ellis with longevity and a weaker bat.
They didn't even play the same position.
How does Walker, Schilling, Mussina, and Manny get on the "almost certainly no" column but Hoffman, Kent, Sosa, and Omar get on the maybe?
That's insane to me.
So among players who didn't get in last year, he was 3rd in the voting. And I believe both players who were ahead of him will get in this year (Hoffman and Vlad). Which means he'll be the returning player with the most votes received going into his final year (unless a first-ballot player passes him) and I think that bodes well for him. The problem might be that next year's class has two slam-dunk 1st ballot HOFers in Rivera and Halladay.
But I think Edgar gets in next year with them.
Mark Belanger is not in. I see no argument for Vizquel.
but vizquel was a much better bat than Belanger... and we are debating Scott Rolen and Andruw Jones...
