Not surprised. I called it on Sunday. The guy is soft & with his history, there was no chance he was going to play this weekend.
Concussion protocol, wasn't his call.
What a terrible trade tho.
Claiming he doesn't want to play is just stupidPlayers have said though beating the Concussion tests are pretty easy and so if they want to play they know how to get around them.

The test has changed a bit. Peyton would say in the past....just act stupid when you are normal and the test will cover the issue. This is not the case anymore. Those days are over.Players have said though beating the Concussion tests are pretty easy and so if they want to play they know how to get around them.

What in his history in the league suggests that he would want to play? Many coaches have questioned his toughness and desire to actually want to play.
Well he did come back into the game last week after taking one of the hardest hits I've seen this season. It would have been very easy for him to just go into the locker room and call it a day.

It hasn't stopped being stupid
Well it hasn't stopped being a stupid trade so I guess it is a wash. Every team makes mistakes and there just are certain players who are not as interested as others in playing. Look at Haynseworth. The guy had all the talent in the world but not much desire to play. Now that doesn't mean that the other signings the Seahawks made this year weren't great ones such as the 2 DE's that have been huge for that defense. Every team has at least one bad signing a year I would say. Obviously hasn't hurt the Seahawks from having success.
Now in saying that I have watched the hit and it was pretty brutal. I don't blame him for sitting out this week and I think long term is the best for him and the team especially if they win on Sunday and maybe have him for the Super Bowl. Just listening to players talk though they do seem to hint that the tests they have to do for concussions aren't that hard to fake your way through. They are getting better at telling when players are faking so maybe that was the case with him.

Do you really think he wouldn't want to play in the NFCCG?
I mean really? Really? I could be swayed into thinking he wouldn't be too hot to play for a Minnesota team that is playing out the string with Christian Ponder at qb. But come on, one game to go to biggest game in the world? (sorry soccer fans)
We have seen players walk away from the game caring more about their career after playing than about the almighty dollar or winning the Super Bowl. Heck the Broncos had an OL quit midseason because he didn't want to get hurt even though they were on a path to possibly play for the Super Bowl. Just because us fans care about our team winning that much doesn't always mean the players do. Now I am sure he is seriously concussed from watching the hit and it is the best thing for him and the team to sit. I just said if he absolutely didn't care about his health he would find a way to get into this game. Look at the Saints in the 1st week where they had a player doing everything possible to get back onto the field and just couldn't believe the coaches wouldn't let him. Again I do think he is hurt and shouldn't play.
